南砺市アイ語る師
夏海のお部屋の夏海です、
とてもとてもお久しぶりです。
富山県南砺市の井波は、
日本遺産の町として去年認定されました。
その大きな要因の一つは井波彫刻ですが、
井波彫刻と言っても良い彫刻とは、
全てを手作業で作り上げた木彫りの作品のみで、
仕上げもヤスリなどを一切使いません。
そんな超アナログな井波彫刻ですが、
井波彫刻師さんの中には、
日展作家さんも沢山います。
一つの町の中に、こんなにも沢山の
日展作家さんがいる町も珍しいそうです。
伝統的な手法の木彫作品と、
新しい手法を取り入れた作品作り。
そしてそれをまた伝統的工芸品に活かす。
古いだけではなく、
新しさだけを追い求めるのではない。
井波彫刻総合会館では、
そんな新旧の素晴らしい作品が
展示販売されています。
この土日のイベントには、
そんな井波彫刻師さんたちが、
チェーンソーアーティストとして
木彫りの実演をしていました。
日頃の静かな佇まいしか
知らなかったのですが、
この日の彫刻師さん達は、
職人さんと言うよりも、
アーティストでした。
