The West Japan Daily (The Nishinippon Shimbun) has opened an account on Steemit and will start posting articles.
We are a newspaper company located in Fukuoka City, on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan, with a history of more than 140 years. In addition to our local news bureaus across Kyushu, we have bureaus in Tokyo and Osaka as well as international bureaus in Washington, D.C., Seoul, Busan, Beijing, and Bangkok.
Currently, online media advertisements are based on page views and are plagued by fake news, copied articles, and attention-grabbing headlines. The objective of our account is to research the economic value of news based on article quality and readers’evaluation.
Titled the “Your Special Mission News Crew”, this new journalism project launched in 2018 is driven by “investigative journalism on demand.” We gather news on personal and social issues in response to our readers’ requests, to aspire to improve this state of affairs through investigative journalism.
We will also explore the viability of how readers evaluate our articles and send us investigation requests via tokens, as well as research the potential of decentralized journalism, which remunerates readers for their contributions.
Our goal with Steemit is to explore the future of quality journalism.
We will distribute articles that will be highly rated and sought after by our readers.

西日本新聞は福岡市を拠点した新聞社で、１４０年以上の歴史があります。九州全域に加え、東京、大阪、ワシントンDC、ソウル、釜山、北京、バンコクにも取材拠点を持っています。
現在、オンラインメディアではページビュー数を基にした広告モデルが広く普及しており、偽ニュースやコピー文章、注意を引く見出しも氾濫しています。今回の配信は、記事の品質と読者の評価に基づくニュースの経済価値について研究する目的です。
私たちが2018年からスタートした報道の企画「あなたの特命取材班」は、「Investigative journalism on demand」をテーマに活動しています。個人や社会の課題について読者の依頼に応える形で取材を始め、調査報道を通して事態の改善を目指す取り組みです。

Which is why it's good to see one branching out.
They're dying because they can't tell the truth because it harms the advertisers, who are the customers of newspapers.
I LOVE the idea of a viewer funded news organization.
Man, this SMT stuff has got to be giving the Establishment fits.
Eventually, But this is the reason they are now diversifying into the digital platform where users need not to buy paper products and use trees just to be able to spread awareness to mankind. It's what you call, "innovation".
