After many days of waiting, I had the name I wanted, 'daledude', secured on Steemit, got logged in, and had the password safely stored in my cut/paste buffer. Immediately after logging in, I went to save the password by clicking in a field that selected 'enter text here' or something like that. It was then that I made the fatal mistake of pressing Ctrl-C instead of what I meant to press: Ctrl-V. That was it, no password, no Steemit account. Curse words, stomping, create another account. Now my wife is getting ready to join and is coming up with so many really good names. Oh well, daledude22 it is.
The main reason I'm here is due to censorship on other corporate social media platforms. Truth and free speech are very important to me, so here I am. After being here in the Steemit community for about a week now, I see many other good reasons to be here. Civility seems to be the norm here, which I greatly appreciate. I also sense that this platform is an excellent way to meet and exchange with others of similar (or different) mind. So I'm very much looking forward to engaging more in the community and meeting new people.
I guess I'll remain anonymous for now.
