So yeah, splitting one week in 3 and then four days makes the most sense. The post after this one will arrive on Hive in 4 days or so.
How did it go with these three days? Let us find out.
Inktober 2024, Day 8: Hike
For the prompt hike, I hoped to incorporate the backpack from the first day somehow. The human, whose backpack it is, is hiking through the forest. It is autumn, obviously, and he is showing his pet plant, which he carries in the pocket of the backpack, how colorful the leaves of the trees can get.
I thought it would be cute to continue with the storyline about walking the pet plant. However, I was happily unaware that this piece would take multiple attempts to complete. Why? I was struggling to decide how to execute the forest in the best way. Where do I want outlines? How can I make the leaves happen? Also, I am aware that the human form still needs more improvement. It is okay. It is supposed to be challenging.
Inktober 2024, Day 9: Sun
On day nine the prompt was sun. I added a flower to the sun. Yes, a sunflower! Perfect! I love sunflowers!
This one also had one failed attempt. Thanks to the washi tape once more! I completed the artwork and removed the washi tape at the end. It left near holes on the edges. I was so mad! It was beyond fixing. So, if you see a bit of ink bleeding on the edges, it is because I did not want to risk it, and lightly tapped the tape on the paper.
Inktober 2024, Day 10: Nomadic
Nomadic? I know! It is the digital nomads! We probably have plenty of those here on Hive, right?! We live in times when it has never been easier to become one. All you need is a steady internet connection, and you are good to go. It also helps that people have warmed up to the idea that you do not need to be tied to a single location to provide services, content, and other things. That is what this piece is about. You are sitting on the beach somewhere, listening to the sound of the waves, and working on your Hive things from there. Who knows where you will be tomorrow? Maybe on the top of some mountain?
That is it for now! See you in 4 days! Thank you for coming back to my blog and checking in! Much love!
Song of the day: akiaura, Øneheart, STM — hypercaste
This is a beautiful collection of illustrations. I'm glad to hear that you listen to your body. Our bodies are clever and tell us exactly what they need, we just need to learn how to listen to them. I hope that you will feel better soon.
Thank you so much! :) I am having a blast with creating these. It had been a while I had done anything artsy.
It is also a lot of fun to see the pile of drawings grow and to go back and see them all. One thing I noticed by skimming through them is that maybe I need to ditch the boxy frame idea as I struggled less with the drawings I did not try to put in the box. They seem more free and bold. Also the scale makes the difference. I tend to draw very tiny things but it does not always pay off as it is harder to ink tiny things. Ahh! This challenge keeps teaching me things through observation and reflection. Fun!
I could feel the difference the same day the massage therapist applied it. At first I could not believe that something like a medical tape could make any improvement. I am hopeful.
Wonderful pieces old friend!
It sure has been a while and maybe I have just too many people in my feed to reliably catch your posts. I just haven't the heart to unfollow people! ;)
I can't pick the piece I love the most out of those. The walk has those fantastic leaves as the frame. The yellow and blue in the flower sure make it pop. Who doesn't have a vision of earning and interacting with the blockchain from a beach!?!?
I set a simple objective of posting every day back in 2018. Definitely doesn't happen and I would regret it if I didn't. Now, I love when I can post every day but don't beat myself up for it. Surely nobody else notices or cares. Now, when I post, it is just a bonus for me!
Spending your time between posts making art is much better for you and we will keep the lights on here between your posts!

Thank you so much!
It has been a while, true. Life got busy at one point and I struggled with posting because the more I posted in the past the longer and longer my posts grew. It took a lot of time to compose them and so I piled up a ton of material and did not see how I could ever write about it all. In other words, I got overwhelmed and gave into pressure, it paralyzed me.
My hope with Inktober is that it will reignite my abilities to post more regularly. It is very tiring though. Making the art, photographing it, writing the posts and posting is not so easy.
This! It really does help to recharge my batteries. In the past I already did the whole Inktober and posted every day too. But the cost was that after I was so burnt out, I became very irregular about posting on Hive. I want the opposite to happen. So in long term this approach will fit better.
Oh man you are singing my tune.
My posts are growing longer because I want to pack as much into each as possible. Practicing fewer words and pictures to see if the response is different and it really isn't. This is just what we do do ourselves.
Back to posting when I can and not beating myself up for it. You and I have earned our keep here over the years.

.Cheers! ^^
Love the flower.
Aw thank you @geekpowered! I am glad to see you are back to posting. I hope you are not discouraged about this slightly more quiet period here on Hive or other places normally peeps of Hive hang around. Keep doing what you are doing regardless.
I would be lying if I said it isn't discouraging.
But for now I'm just trying to figure out how to do things.
I won't let this take me out unless things get far worse.
