That'a good point! I noticed a while ago that when researching a new ICO, Steemit is a great place to search for articles on it after going through the basics. The transparency of the platform really does make a difference in the trust aspect of the medium. I did some research previously on how users choose to trust information on social media channels and Steemit looks like a prime candidate as a trustworthy channel to catch up to news in the crypto space and not only.
systematic abuse (plagiarism). Seems like that doesn't bother most though. Bit of a shame really.I just hope that the community finds a way of fighting off the accounts that abuse this platform through spam, plagiarism and other such activities. This seems to be quite a big issue, and since it doesn't appear to be under control now that the user base is low, I could imagine that this could spiral out of control rather fast with rapid on-boarding of new users.
