Hello steemians

Today im going to take what some people throw away also repurpose old growth redwood and build floating shelves plus a foldaway desk.

These are the ceiling joists from a home built in 1909.
This is basically old growth redwood over 100 years old. Look at the beautiful lines of grain.
Can you believe some people throw this away?
This is lumber locally harvested from Oakland California in the 1900's
We remove all nails and we run them through a planer and we glue them together and sand with an orbital sander.

Now we will build and weld the metal frames.

Metal frames are painted reclaimed redwood shelves are torched and we apply a wax to the wood shelves and table. Now ready to assemble and install.

Very Nice work👍👍

thank you!!!

Very nice _b

Thank you. Old growth redwood can’t be bought anymore. Up close the wood is very beautiful and priceless. The waxed finish on the wood is smooth and feels luxurious. Plus it has a story behind it.

nice work @tt-dogg ,many people throw up some stuff that could be used again.thinking that these things are no longer valid, in reality, if we have an open mind, we will use these stuff instead of throwing it out or even left it without using ,what you did is a nice job that shows you have good mind.you have used old redwood and have built a beautiful and useful shelves instead of buying expensive shelve, great work @tt-dogg all the best.

Yes. Thanks again.

The Midas touch. Sounds nice. I prefer mr fixer. Lol

We're looking at both here man 😀💯

Having studied industrial design I can't begin to tell you how much I love this project of yours.

I think it's great that you reused this old beautiful wood and revived it ! I like the simplistic design. It's modern and less is definitely more especially when you are working with such beautiful material

I agree. When I design. I Keep things simple and clean as you don’t want it to take away from the wood. I will be retiring soon. And when I do after travels I will be building furniture and pieces like this for fun and will sell. Maybe I should sell on steem. Hah. Next project is a custom design and hand built live edge table. Stay tuned.

You definitely should do that ! The more market value we can create for Steem and SBD the better. This is definitely useful awesomea designs that a lot of people will want

Oh, nice DIY project. @tt-dogg @,@
