full $teem ahead!dam cool stuff as usual @thebatchman !! please stop my blog to help support the fight against slaughtering innocent dolphins. Thanks.

I have dabbled in Houdini and I have to say that it is both very powerful and very different. It seems for me that there is a large learning curve. Thanks for the post.

The learning curve is indeed huge. To be honest it is one of the hardest things to get a grip of in 3d. The way the node system works and the way Houdini can talk to all parts of Houdini (and mantra!) opens a vast amount of options. It's quite intimidating but once you start getting the basics down you start to see that everything connects and start to create more complex systems, that is the challenge I love.

Part of the challenge is the nomenclature involved. Sops , etc. The node system does not throw me as much as the terminology. Have you ever worked with Clarisse? It handles pretty large amounts of geometry really fast.
