I think that it is great that you have your kids out shoveling. There has been this trend over the last few generations (since the baby boomers) to do more for our children and have them do less and I don't think this has produced good life lessons.
Young people seem more entitled and less grown up then previous generations at the same age. I have a cousin who is in his 40's and he still lives in his moms basement. He's of course totally able take care of himself but it is just too easy to freeload.
Exactly. We want our children to be more productive, confident and independent.
