EXODE decentralizes a galactic Market Node to own, targeting more passive income

in #hivegaming4 days ago (edited)

We proposed ownership and decentralization to our players thanks to the launch of Aramea Station with its presale a few months ago.

Aramea will become a launch hub for new players, a place to rent and mint cards and also an event hub. It is packed with features, the first of which was put online today with the ability to make and join Ownership Groups!

But more passive income solutions are coming!

Colony assets are going to be traded, and this will happen somewhere.

We are now decentralizing one of the coming features:
The first market node associated with the new galaxy.

What is a Market Node?

exode_market_node_concept.png

Market Nodes are the 'final piece' of EXODE circular economy and a core part of the trading experience and revenue.

They are small logistical starbases in the new galaxy, either made there (were people there since longer?) or more probably warped there.

The first market node was planned to be EXODE-owned, but we would like to decentralize it as a way to fund development and test a "mature version" of EXODE economy.

What does a market node do?

Market nodes have a group of stealth transports that deliver the resources and items you purchase from other colonies.

Do transports have a limit?

We appreciate the idea of a "physical simulation" where transports receive orders, take time, and players become "happy" when they are delivered. We want 2325 to be fun and gamey and retain some identity. This also ensures some kind of "thought about EXODE and this delivery" during the game loop, and allows players to strategically plan!

We will test and refine the numbers, but: we would like the first market node to transport up to 200 daily trades. Since it will be the only market node for a long time, all other trades will just be queued. Of course, we can still adjust this number at any time: it is not made to be dysfunctional or too crowded.

It could allow for some players to pay more tax to the market node (more money distributed to you!) for premium time, but hold one, we don't want that to be problematic to players, we want the experience to be almost flawless.

Still, thanks to this normally they will also trade "for more quantities at once", remain good and engaged "planners", and avoid schemes with little units, and we will encourage it too!

How is it done?

Player colonies will collect and produce many items, from food to ammo to materials to even starships some day. When they "list" this for trading, they agree for it to be shipped to the market node according to its weight and added to their player store.

This will be effective the next time the transport comes: until then, they can still cancel their offer or adjust it freely.

Transporting has a small fee, which will be void in the days of testing of course. Note that some early or endgame players may "become transporters" too of other resources! something which we will cover in another article.

When the item is sold or traded, even if it's for another item, there is always an EXOFUEL cost to the purchase. This EXOFUEL cost is mostly earned by the seller.

If it is a sponsored player (someone who launched from Aramea, or who rent a starter from there for instance) some of this EXOFUEL will go to Aramea station owners: there is a 50% tax to Aramea.

And in all cases, for sponsored players and not sponsored players: some of it will also go to the market node owners. For now, we plan for 40% of tax to go to market node owners, whether the pilot comes from Aramea or not. However, almost all pilots should come from Aramea or a sponsor once the station launches!

What is colony trading?

You can already trade cards and packs but when you launch a new game, after picking a station (such as the Aramea station) you evacuate and then settle a colony.

You will then produce items on this planet: food to sustain yourself, weapons, armor, ammo for your existing weapons from 2325, ...

It is essential that players can trade items with each other. In EXODE economy, there should be some better thing you can find here or there, and something that you also do better, that you can trade in exchange!

We know that trading works best when everything is its own uniquely defined niche: this way there is no two sellers with the exact same thing. Their own planetary resources are unique and procedurally generated with a lot of attributes. So there will always be things you can do and things you possibly can't.

Barter and direct purchase should be very active!

How to participate?

Market node will be proposed as packs available in shop with every pack representing one share.

There will be 200 packs total.
They represent 100% of all the market node tax distribution.
So it means 2 packs represent 1% of it, 20 packs represent 10% of revenue you own, etc.

  • Packs are normally at 65 USD value.
  • To accompany the launch, they are at -20 USD (so at 45 USD) until December 28th, so it's better for early buyers
  • Then they will continue at -10 USD (55 USD) until January 8th, so you can still jump in.
  • The last week, they will be at 65 USD, until January 15th and then the sale will be over.

If remaining shares ever come back, it will be later and at almost double this price (120 USD).

We prefer to be honest and mention that their normal price is 65 USD "for now" but with our influence, the psychological price will evolve.

This listing should guarantee a good resale value from players: but the more as colony trading is played. We always like to favor players as long as we manage to leverage enough funds to develop the game!

Note that this may possibly be the last sale we make before we try EXODE distribution.
So after this sale, our prices are likely to go up!

When can we trade these packs after?

Technically it should be possible to start trading these packs between players as soon as the event ends, but we'll just delay it for several weeks to allow a prime time to Aramea share trading, from January 15th and onwards if it's ready.

Aramea share trading will be the only shares traded for two months.
This should give them a good trade period while we will continue to launch features.

After that time, market node shares will be tradable as well as Aramea shares.

Aramea sponsors new players and we want it fully functional. But they are quite complementary, as one sponsors an entire colony and earn incomes from it but also comes with a pack of features (card renting, special crates, special card drops) ; and the other (market nodes) complements colony trading to get the other half of income.

The first market node will be positioned at the "center" of all coordinates of current 600 planets and colonies, so it should be the center of the galaxy even with new players coming in.

We speak of "the first" market node but have no exact plans for a second one to launch yet, that could be very very far away, however we would like players to some day "construct" a guild node of sorts for their players with their own materials. As you all know, as it's a starbase of sorts, we are also extremely far from having that capacity yet on colonies!

Additional discount for Esdrovian backers!

In addition to all that, players who participated to the latest launched Esdrovian Armor Sale are not left behind!

A discount is provided until December 19th (included) for all Esdrovian contracts you take.

Every Armor Dock gives -25 USD discount on the market node sale itself.

This means that for every contract, you can have a market node share at just 20 USD instead of 45 USD! It works as a special privilege usable for market nodes only.

Are you late on the Esdrovian sale?
It's still time! At least before December 20th!
Almost half of them were taken already but the other half is still there (for now).

Remember to login to use your privilege for your Esdrovian Docks. On December 20th, as soon as Devlindos programs the switch, you will still be able to take Esdrovian Armor Docks, but won't have the -25 USD special discount.

Esdrovian contracts still come with raffle tickets and nice privilege discount, and are out of mint after!
But a market node discount some considerable ice on the cake.

Note:
The Esdrovian Armor sale will last until January 3rd, after which time this pack will be marked as out of mint!

When?

Market node sale will begin this Friday at 6 PM UTC, December 20th.
Market Node sale will end on January 15th.

As a reminder, Esdrovian Armor stop giving more discount on December 20th and their sale will last until January 3rd. It's still time to take to get your raffle tickets for your exclusive legendaries!

For more information about the Esdrovian sale, you can read this article.
