New Witness Server
First up is something I haven't had to pay much attention to in a long time but needed some attention. Hive Witness servers are just so reliable! I've brought up a new Witness machine and I just switched the keys right now. The old one is running a little low on disk space and I wanted to updated to the latest version of the chain software. The next block I produce should come from that new machine.
I've climbed up in the rankings quite a bit over the last year or so and I wanted to say that I am very grateful for those who vote for me and I take this responsibility to the community very seriously.
I'm going to look at running a second witness machine on stand by once I've improved the disk situation on the old one.
HiveFest
There's too much to say about HiveFest and I'll try to write a dedicated post about it! I met so many new people and old friends I won't try to name you all. But please jump into the comments here and say hi!
I want to thank @lordbutterfly and @roelandp and all who helped in the organisation of the event and speaking. It was a really spectacular event from start to finish.
Travel was a touch challenging, delays on the way out meant missing a really cheap flight from Rome to Split and having to buy a really expensive one to get there in time for opening drinks, and the flooding in Vienna caused a lengthy delay on the way home, but none of that matters! It was all worth it.
And it gave me one of my favorite photos ever! Romans they go the house!

I got some time to chat with the guys at @vsc.network in person which is great. We're all working toward a similar goal and they used @v4vapp in their demo. The forthcoming BTC wrapping on their VSC system will be tightly integrated with @v4vapp.

For the last few months while building @v4vapp I was generously supported by the DHF. Going forward I have a much more modest support which covers direct server costs and a little of my time.

Really looking forward to what you put together with the VSC boys. Their demo at Hivefest was very cool (I watched the live broadcast). I also followed along with a transaction fo my own, but unfortunately it's not ready for public use.
Amazing having met you again, hope your experience was as great as mine. Your talks are always entertaining in the morning.

My German friend whoi was at the hivefest sent pictures of a rallye car with HIVE sponsoring all over it. Loved to see that but the Romans you show are great too.

I think it's quite disappointing when you miss a cheaper opportunity especially when it comes to a flight. That picture with the soldiers is quite iconic lol, must be one of the best pictures of Hivefest
