After almost a year, I thought let's have a look what's going on with Steem. I heard something about Justin Sun, stolen Steem and a hard fork, but didn't pay much attention. Apart from the full story of the fork, as a user, I'm just curious which platform I should continue to use.
I see one post appears on both platforms:
Project.HOPE community celebrates our FIRST BIRTHDAY
Article on Steemit
Article on Hive
On Steemit it has 322 upvotes and rewards of USD 22.33
On Hive it has 282 upvotes and reward of USD 3.92
So the reward is clearly in favor of Steemit. Is it normal to post articles on both platforms?
It looks like HIVE performs approximately 5x as many transactions as STEEM today and that's in favor of HIVE.Traffic can be found in the block explorers, https://hive-db.com/ for Hive and https://steemdb.io for Steem.
Marketwise, it looks like HIVE was expected to be a clear winner, but that effect weakened while STEEM remained stable over the last 6 months. Both crypocurrencies currently have a similar price, market cap and ranking.

Finally, the social stats look in favor of STEEM. Of course it makes sense that STEEM has much more history and the Reddit channel of HIVE actually has 243 members, but that still is a big gap.

So the question is, which platform should I use? I like to write little articles while travelling, so prefer to use a mobile app. I tried to find one and couldn't find one for either one (on IOS). I still have eSteem, but it crashes all the time.
What do think? Which platform to use going forward and for what reason?
