🐈 Cat as Sleeping Beauty: A Short Story 📖

Once upon a time in a faraway land, a beautiful cat was born to the cat king and queen. Cat Fairies from all over were invited to the celebrations. They carried with them extraordinary gifts and favored the little princess, so she would turn into a clever, lovely, and kind cat lady. All of a sudden, an old wicked cat fairy came to the palace and cursed the princess. She said that on her sixteenth birthday, she'll touch a fish bone and die. Thereafter, she shouted in anger and vanished. Everybody was shocked.

A young cat fairy was called into the cat palace. She said that she can't take the evil witch cat's curse, but she can still help. She used her wand and said that when the princess will touch fish bone, she will not die but will instead fall into a deep sleep and will only be awakened with a true-love's kiss from a cat prince.

Because of the curse granted by the wicked witch cat, the cat king and queen were so worried about their dear daughter and ordered all the fish bones of the Cat Kingdom to be destroyed for eternity. However, unknown to them, one fish bone was still left.

As the years went by, the kitten grew to be an exquisite, enchanting young cat. On her sixteenth birthday, when she was roaming about the castle, she came upon a secret room at the very top of the castle towers. Curious, she wanted to see what the old cat woman is holding with all her care.

The princess is amazed as she had never seen it before. She pleaded with the cat woman to let her hold the beautiful fish bone. But the minute she touched the tip of the fish bone, she fell to the ground. The witch cat's spell comes true.

With a heavy heart, the cat king ordered her to be taken to the grand room, where she would lie for many years. The whole cat kingdom was sad for their princess. The youngest cat fairy watched all of this. So, she said with a wave of her hand to let the entire cat kingdom fall asleep with the princess, so when she is woken by her cat prince, she will not be alone. Thereafter, everything stop and all the cats and other animals in the kingdom fell asleep where they were. As the years passed by, a thick forest grew around the palace and the kingdom was covered up.

A hundred years later, a handsome cat prince was passing through the forest, and he discovered the strange kingdom.

While exploring it, he was surprised to find the beautiful cat lying and sleeping soundly. He immediately fell in love with her. He stunned how gentle and peaceful she looks. Then, he leaned down and kissed her.

Instantly, the spell was lifted, the princess and all the cat awoke. It was joy and celebration all around. The cat prince and princess were soon married, and they lived happily ever after.

🐈 Who is she? 🐾

Her name is Cassie, a Siamese cat. She became part of our family last month. She is originally from a friend since childhood named Ruby Jane. They have many cats and decided to find a new owner for her adult cats. I have already two male cats named Cooper (an adult cat) and Hairo (a 10 months old cat) so I am too hesitant to adopt another one. But she said that she wants Cassie to be my new owner because her daughter, which is my god-daughter named Jayda, really loves her. Jayda wants me instead to adopt Cassie and not other people. That is why, Cassie became part of our family.

At first, Cassie feel scared in the new environment. She is distant, always cry and not willing to eat. I feel so sad about it so every day, I hug her, caress her and talk to her until she became comfortable and have a willingness to eat. After almost 3 days, she started to eat and within 2 weeks, she finally accepted her new life with us.

🎬 Behind the scene

I decided to take some photos of Cassie and send it to Ruby Jane for them to know that Cassie is doing well. But never expected Cassie to be a photogenic cat and capture how beautiful she is.

While taking pictures of her, I think Hairo felt jealous. He always distracted me. He runs here and runs over there, played my short's lace and even grabbed the flowers beside Cassie. At last, Hairo wins to get my attention and I decided to let him join the picture.

I sat him beside Cassie then to my surprise, he started to behave. Now I finally understand, he just wanted to join Cassie… Then I capture their sweet moments.

🥰 The True Ending

In the story, when the prince kissed sleeping beauty, the princess woke up but in reality, after Cassie wake up and found Hairo in her side, they both fell asleep, and they lived always sleeping happily ever after.
