There is now a more exposed reality to these mental health issues and I am very excited about the exposure but there is still so much more about mental health that we need to be really exposed to. There are several misconceptions about mental health and one of the most common misconceptions is that mental illness is very rare but that is false because in reality, 1 out of 2 persons will experience mental illness once in their lifetime.

Another misconception is that it is dependent on an individual's ability to control how to live with mental illness in a healthy way, but this view is incorrect as it doesn't treat mental illness as an actual illness that requires medical attention, this point also fails to take into consideration the several factors that affect our mental health, this includes biochemistry, current challenges, trauma, and effective community support and trauma.
Based on the research by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), most scientists that study the brain believe greatly in the fact that mental disorder is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain or neurochemicals, and neurochemicals are chemical messengers that are responsible for the carrying, boosting and balancing of signals between neurons, nerve cells as well as other cells in the body, which could affect a wide variety of physical and physiological functions. With the occurrence of an imbalance, the brain is unable to effectively communicate with the body, therefore inhibiting a safe or healthy response to various stimuli.
Below are several neurochemicals that could become unsafe if it gets processed in an incorrect amount, they could also be associated with several varieties of mental disorders;
Adrenaline/Epinephrine: Adrenaline is the hormone responsible for the regulation of muscle contraction, heart rate, and blood pressure. This hormone triggers the body's stress response usually called the fight or flight response, when this hormone becomes excessive in the body however, it could lead to chronic stress, dizziness, fatigue, inability to concentrate, anxiety, and even anxiety disorders.
Dopamine: Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps with the control of the brain's reward center, dopamine helps us to see rewards and take the needed action to move towards them, it also helps us to regulate our emotional responses to various stimuli. When dopamine as a neurotransmitter is too little it could be related to addictive behaviors like the excessive use of drugs or alcohol, cravings, compulsions, depression, and loss of motor control are also not left out, when it is too much, it would be related to attention disorders, mood swings, autism, and psychosis, it is a symptom that is usually associated with schizophrenia.
Norepinephrine: Norepinephrine is a hormone that helps to mobilize the body and the brain for action, this is convenient by affecting the flow of blood, increasing alertness, regulating heart rate, and speeding up the time for reaction, when this hormone is too little, it will be related to the absence of focus or energy and when it is excessive, it could cause anxiety, stress, and hyperactivity.
Serotonin: This is a neurotransmitter that helps with the regulation of mood and social behavior, it also helps with digestion, appetite, sleep memory, and the function of sexual desires. When this neurotransmitter is too little, it is related to anxiety, depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive actions and thoughts.
Mental health problems can affect anyone whether you are black or white, regardless of race, age, economic or social class.
Mental health is well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities. WHO
Children could show early warning signs of mental health, these mental health problems could be diagnosed clinically and can be a product of the interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors. A good portion of mental health disorders begins to show signs before the child turns 14 years old, and a little lesser mental health disorders begin at age 24. Unfortunately, only a little percentage of children and adolescents with diagnosable mental health problems receive the treatments they need, seeking early mental health support will help a child before problems begin to interfere with other existing developmental needs.
We must also bear in mind that, the majority of people who have mental health problems are believed to be violent and that is not true, because most people with mental illness are not violent, only about 3-5% of violent cases can be attributed to those with serious mental illness, some people are even close to people with mental health cases and do not have an idea.
Do not think also, that those with mental health problems are less productive as that is false, those with mental health problems are often just as productive as other employees. Employers who have in time past employed those with mental health issues have reported cases of punctuality, good work, and motivation.source
Mental health issues do not translate to being weak or lazy, some factors that contribute to mental health issues are; biological factors like physical illness, brain chemistry, genes, life experiences like trauma or history of abuse, then a family history of mental issues.
The fact that you know about someone's mental issue does not mean they should be written off, they could get better and completely recover. The recovery process helps people to live, work, learn, and fully participate in communities.
There are several treatment options available for mental health cases, medications, therapy, or both. If you begin to feel any symptoms or you have a friend who does, please do not hesitate to speak with a mental health wellness expert.
It is possible to prevent emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders, this can be done through the focus on addressing risk factors like exposure to trauma that could affect the chances that children, adults, and youth will develop mental health issues. When the social-emotional well-being of children and youths is being promoted, it will result in;
- A higher level of productivity.
- Improved quality of life.
- A stronger economy.
- Lower crime rate.
- Better educational outcomes.
- Increased lifespan.
- An improved family life.
- A lower cost of health care.
CONCLUSION.
Mental illness is not something to be joked with, there are several random facts that have traveled wide but with true facts, they have been debunked in this post. There are hormones that come off either in a little or excessive quantity and they explain the trigger of certain behavior. Fast treatment and possible prevention are advised.

Mental illness is difficult situation to talk about here. Many individuals are mentally ill but just that sometimes it would reveal that it's all that severe. In that case, before getting to know, it might have caused a lot of havoc.
I agree with you, so many people are scared of speaking out for the fear of societal discrimination, but there are now appropriate bodies one can confide in for cases like this in order to prevent future complications.
