Hello everyone on hive, I welcome you all to my blog once again 👏, Yakubu Timothy is the name, and I will be speaking about the evolution of Africa music, how that we forget our fathers culture and rather choose the white man's culture or way of life in music.
Hope you had a great day, cheers because God is about to put a smile upon that face 😍😍.
This is actually my first time participating in these community, and to my excitement a very good, interesting and profound topic was given, yeah 😘
So talking about the evolution of Africa music now, this reminds me of a certain day that I was coming to school on tricycle (Keke), our vehicle stopped to buy fuel at a filling station, and a music video of the south Africans, was been played on the screen at the filling station, suddenly the guy that sat close to me, was like these are the kind of music people enjoyed mostly back then,,.. you will not know the meaning of what the are saying but it's really interesting and entertaining, but right now it's hard to see it on people phones or hear them singing it anymore, such music then is the south African songs "AWILO, Azonto (Ghana), and Bongo flava( Tanzania)
Traditional African music was actually deeply rooted in culture, spirituality, and community , where instrument like drum's, xylophone, flutes were used back then as a means of entertainment to the AFRICAN people.
But in the dispensation of time, when we were been colonized by the colonial masters, that these also affects or changes the African music styles, we forget the heritage of our fathers and embrace the white man's culture.
Like in my place where I come from (we the EGGONs) actually have a way of dance, cultural attires, and different kinds of dishes in our culture, but right now it's had to see any of those things existing again, because of the evolution , it's had to find people who can actually do those things perfectly again.
It actually affects us to the extent that, even the next generations to come might not grow up to identify their culture, because even now must people have already forgotten about their culture.
And average young man on the street if asked which tribe or culture are you from, he will answer perfectly well, but to speak further about the culture, he can't, because maybe he was not thought, and peradventure his parents did not groomed him according to their cultural perspective or believe system.
Additionally this evolution does not just create a negative impact, but has a profound impact on it's style, diversity and global recognition. How ever the increased global connectivity has led to the recognition of Africa music, with many artist archieving global success .
Despite these changes, AFRICAN music remains deeply rooted in traditional culture and heritage , reflecting the continent's rich diversity and resilience, and we will continue to embrace our culture.
