Infact, it's less of a love and more of an infatuation, a sense of respect and awe as I listen to the genre.Anybody who has even read three or more of my #ttt posts would be able to perceive the fact that I love rap.

My love for rap started when I was just twelve, before then, I cared not about music and was infatuated with football games which was considered normal for boys my age.
I still remember it vividly when my elder sister put on the first rap song that I remember hearing.

Eminem ~ Love The Way You Lie

I was bedazzled. Simply enamored with the emotion felt from the words and the rhymes they formed.
It was my first time hearing rap and my first time falling in love with it, granted it was my first audio meeting with Em.

As I grew, and carried on in my musical journey, I fully explored the realms of music, settling on rap and being influenced slightly by hip-hop.
I fell in love with the Migos bunch when they just came up.

Slippery ~ Migos

They were a new sound, a new flow, granted they made waves in the music industry, setting trends and gaining fans.
Their songs usually centered around the good and bad of gang life; money, guns, drugs and girls.
As an early teen, I was drawn to the songs, not really understanding but simply vibing.

After a while, their songs fell out of my ear and I was left searching again. That's how I came across the Christian soulful rap of NF.
NF helped me through some dark and turbulent times in my mid teen years. His lyrics, inspired with his own battles help one find their ways and search for an answer.
His fans, although few are devoted, ain't that right @deraaa

The Search ~ NF

My NF phase lasted for quite a while but never really ended.
It opened a whole new world of rap for me.
His lines made me understand that rap isn't just about putting words together and making them fit.
It isn't about how fast you can stalk or how sick is your flow.
It's about what those words represent, what they mean to the artist and to the listener.
How well the lyrics convey the emotions and tell the story of the song.

With that understanding in mind, my rap journey led me back to Eminem, and then to two other rappers.

Real ~ Kendrick Lamar

Change ~ Jcole.

Rap is a genre that closes gaps. It easily crosses culture and helps one understand another's perspective.
It could be fun...

Love Music Pt2 ~ Ren

Or be thoughtful and serious

Mirror ~ Lil Wayne

All in all, it's a genre that can't be easily replaced nor ignored in my life.
It's a genre of music that helped forge my life and without it I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be where I am today.
It's a genre that I completely and utterly fell in love with ❤️✨

The truth is I have listened to almost all songs here except two. Migos was a banger for me back in the day but I lost interest because their lyrics were just so… generic. It was something everyone was doing.

Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie was the first of his raps I heard and I fell hard for his music style which I will come to know as Rap.

The two is probably Ren and Kendrick 😂😂
