Hummingbirds with Sigma 150-500mm lens

I photographed these hummingbirds from inside my bedroom. They were in the garden outside the window. I think I used open source photo editing software - Darktable and GIMP to do the edits.

Some I de-saturated intentionally and mixed muted color with black and white. Some I did full color. Others I just went for black and white.

I was using an old beat up Sigma 150-500mm lens I purchased used and a Canon 6D camera. Last year I upgraded to a Sony A6400 with a new Sigma 150-600mm specifically for wildlife. The new system works pretty well. But quite frankly, my old used lens worked really well for what it was. I traded it off for other equipment and I wish I hadn't. Maybe someday I'll find another used 150-500 Sigma. But for now life is on the road and I already have too much to pack around with me.
