We went away on a 2-day trip, and it's always great to be back home.
Home is where the heart is as they say, and it's so true, as at least we know the weather here.
So where did we go? I will show in a series of posts soon, as we visited two great destinations here in our country. A clue would be that it's a fact that fruit is healthy eating for poor children, and enough said, as I don't want to spoil the visits.
We have our eyes constantly on the sky, as it is a book to read every day.
Nothing is a constant here, as at times when the sun is shining rain comes down. Now when we visit other areas for short periods, we pack lightly, and we have a look at what the weather is supposed to be over there. Quite often we get it so wrong, but such is life.
That single cloud in front of the sun, was an ominous sign as you will see later.
As usual the clouds were streaming in, and we knew what to expect.
This below is exactly what we expected, as another bout of rain was on its way.
I am so familiar with the weather here now, that I think they can employ me as a weather forecaster :)
In our area, we have a mountain called the Helderberg Mountain, and it gives me big tips on how the weather will play out for the day and the next day. A funny thing happens with this mountain, as on one day in the cold Winter, it feels on that day like Summer. This happens when the hot Berg winds from the deserts start blowing over the mountain. It feels like hot Summer when one steps outside, in the middle of Winter. It is like someone left an aircon on outside. Also, the density of the cloud on this mountain will tell me how much rain is expected. It will also give a hint as to when to expect it. In my younger days, I used to be an avid freshwater fisherman, practicing catch-and-release principles, and that's where I started to learn a lot about the weather. So, the habit has remained.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Those clouds go from beauty to ominous, how quickly it changes!
The weather's been playing tricks with us as well. When we have those hot berg winds, we know it's going to turn icy the next day!
I hope you're both keeping well Zac.
So true Lady Lizzie, as the winds here can make one's head spin. They say that tomorrow it will be a clear day with strong winds and the temp is expected to be 14C. So, there must still be some snow somewhere. !LOLZ
Hope that you will not have many of those berg winds. We were invited to a tour of an organization that educates young disabled children, and it took me back in memory to the start of Papillon in 2002. The previous year 2001, I worked as a volunteer at am ngo that cares for disabled children.
Now Papillon will partner with this new one in the Cape.
Thank you and we are as well as well can be under the circumstances.
Blessings and all our !LUV

Wild guess the apple farms, you must miss that lovely quiet start you had to life in the Cape.
Berg winds drove the temperature up to 34C during the week then plummeted back down sitting in a comfortable 22C now, I'm hopeful some winter will arrive not thunder storms. Mother nature won't ask she does what must be, awesome photography of the clouds running wild above once again!

The heart of the citrus business in the country. In a way I miss it, but life goes one and one has to adapt in order to stay ahead. !LOLZ
Lucky you, as we are bound for a windy 14C tomorrow (Sunday). Maybe some of it will blow your way, and yes, Mother nature knows what's best at all times.
Glad that you liked the clouds dancing to the tunes of the wind.

This single cloud is the main warning for all of us, it covers the sun as if to say, O creatures on the surface of the earth, get ready, soon the rain will come to greet you.
Oh yes, I remembered a story about a guy that saw a small cloud, and he told the people that it would rain. They laughed at him in disbelief, and a bit later that day a big rainstorm arrived. !LOLZ
The pictures are quite nice and when I see a beautiful school like this I am interested in climbing it.
Thank you, and I think that the forces will arrest you if you climb on schools down here. !LOLZ
