Niice!! well I would love to see🙃 (if ever some extra time comes your way)
...nothing better than having a pattern all after your likings!!
So you are sewing those kaki and colour mixing clothes yourself?

I have and can sew them, but for several years I have picked up what people throw away (its a LOT). Then I alter, change, take apart, re-combine into other things, whatever I need at the time, or turn it into "wearable art", usually I prefer jeans because they make the best canvas.
Since I have photos a friend took of these jeans, I'll show you one, hahaha...I am the worst model and my place is behind the camera. 😂
The jeans were found. Altered them to fit me first. Created the design. Cut it out in jeans. Cut out pieces of sequin fabric (blue-green-purple and upside down they are matte black) to fit, backed with another fabric and sewn into jeans (machine sewn). Outlined with tiny pearl beading (hand sewn). Design is on front and wraps a bit around outside leg.
On the back of one leg is my logo done in same manner by hand, but on a piece of leather. On the side with the circle shapes are sterling silver beads hand sewn on. I think it took about at least 150 hours or so to make. I don't wear sequins, so this is a first, lolol.
Yes!!! Feels like you just spoke out the thoughts of my brain:D
personally I find it so inspiring altering pieces, figuring out what you can make with it, how to change it.
..and then about the Jeans in particular, it is mad how many you find, I mean everyone literally has them and throws them away, there is lots of it... which is awesome.
The Jeans are really cool! What a patience indeed, you have my admiration:) sequins wouldnt be my first choice eighter, but then on the other hand, glitter?! and then really Jeans is kind of compatible with anything, or a lot..
Do you make them for your self or also for others?
😂 Similar ways of seeing, based on your posts that I've read. I love to figure it out. The more challenging the better.
It's amazing what is thrown away. So many brand new things too. So many jeans, but really, there's a treasure of everything.
Thank you! Hahaha, all that patience has been intentionally self-taught through many years of discipline.
Yes, jeans work so well for many things, or else a heavy cotton twill like that. Hahaha, glitter, great description! Seems a lot of people like these jeans, since they stop me to ask about them. At this point, I forget I am wearing these glittery things and don't know why they ask, then have to remember what I'm wearing. 😂
The jeans are for myself. People have asked me to make this kind of thing for them, but when I tell them what it would cost to make for them due to the time and work, they don't want to pay for that kind of hand work. I have made many clothes for others, but those were regular clothing, also I made any buttons. Custom fit clothing according to what the person wanted.
Weeell yess it is always kind of difficult with the prices at that stage... its a shame, but also very interesting to discuss I find. Maybe it would help to work as a collective to make it more affordable for people?
It would be awesome to get access to some clothe-dumps... or any sort of place they would throw away clothes, shops, or brands or I have no idea where else.
Actually I have seen this documentary about some pretty cool fashion brands (dont remember the names) maybe they where english? any way they made a collection with all sorts of clothes from brands (h&m but also prada) that where thrown away and they matched them back together... And they actually go all the "rubbish" straight from those brands.
It would, but people are not so inclined to do that where I live. Most prefer to buy online (everything) or from stores. Labels matter to most also. If possible, I will barter with people that are also creative or have something else they can exchange. I like it when money is not involved. Old habits from growing up.
In apartment buildings here, there is usually a spot that people put anything they don't want for others to take. Most people do this, including myself. It's been this way for many years here, never formally arranged, just naturally happens. Everyone likes it. Beneficial in so many ways.
That's really cool about that collection of all throw away brands. This is why I think there is very little reason to buy clothes, among other things.
I have come across places where people bring and take things, but that you have this in almost any apartment building is awesome!!
for sure!
It really is awesome, also that others benefit and the enjoyment of community.
