Rain, Rain, Come and Stay

Whenever we talk about weather, the topic of change always comes up, how weather is changing and all seasons come before their time. Plastic, people and pollution have changed the weather of the world and now many cities are not liveable due to increasing pollution. I live in the foothills of Himalayas and living here has its own advantages. Today I am going to talk about those advantages.

My favorite pastime is to go to the terrace with a mug of coffee every evening and watch the sunset. I do this every evening and I miss it on the evenings when I am not able to do it. Watching the sun cool down with hot coffee gives a very soft feeling. I see the last rays of the sun on the earth's forehead every day, I come out of my thoughts and listen to the conversation between the earth and the sun and feel the last kiss of the day on the earth's forehead.

Because monsoon is here and nature is at its peak. It is raining every day and a lot of water is falling on the lap of the earth. The seasonal rivers and streams are flowing as if they will meet the sea today itself and sing a beautiful song whose lyrics might be like this “Sangam mera samundr ke saath ab har roz hoga…jiska sakshi har pal aakash hoga”. The clouds are sometimes wearing a grey coloured robe and sometimes orange coloured one. I just ask them “Why do you love the river so much?”. To which the clouds always reply by saying “If you can understand the language of rain then you will understand why we love it”.

Herons and birds are flying very high in the sky with the flowing wind, so high that even Everest would not be this high. Listening to their chirping, I also feel like following their voices and wings and I also take a dive in the sky and hand myself over to nature and forget my existence which I am living on earth. Yesterday before the rain I saw a parrot flying with a red beak. The red beak of the parrot reminds me of the sweet strawberries which I ate in abundance in April.

If my words are reaching the ears of the clouds through nature, then the clouds will surely understand that along with the earth, my thirst also needs to be quenched. And to quench my thirst, I will also have to become a part of the clouds. Of course I am not as light as a cloud but my dream is to become a cloud and rain on the earth. I don't care about the people of the rest of the world whom I know but I would definitely like to wet my loved ones so that by getting wet like birds, my friends too can remember their childhood, feel freedom and most importantly, feel a connection with nature.
