Sheep shearing festival.

in Photography Lovers2 days ago (edited)

Hello every body,

Every year, just before summer, the local sheep herd is organizing a sheep shearing festival.
They organize this especial for the children so that they come a bit more familiar with how things work in nature.

They already sheared the complete heard the week before this day because that is a lot of work to do it in one day. They saved a couple of sheep specially for this day to show the shearing process to the people.

As you can see it was busy event. A lot of families came to this event. It's a real families day out.

They also had a electric shearing machine but it was more educational for the people if they saw how they were cut in the old days.

What do you think? Does the sheep like it?

And her winter coat is off. It almost looks like dreadlocks.

Do you think they feel naked? It was raining a little bit so they probably felt a bit colder.

There is a stand were you can buy your own sheepskin for in your home in front of the fire place.

The local forest ranger is showing the kids how soft the sheep skin feels.

They also invited a woman who showed the people how things worked in the past. She brought here own spinning wheel and made some thread from the freshly sheared sheep.

It was a good event.
