Trying to be different
There are a lot of posts of flowers made here on Hive everyday. I try to take pictures of flowers that are a bit different than what everyone else is doing. When taking pictures of flowers, I try and create an image that is more interesting to look at than just looking at a single flower.
I like to edit my photos in a way that highlight the colors of the flower and make them really stand out against the rest of the image.
Selective focus is also a really cool way to display images in ways that people aren't used to seeing. For these images, I used my 50mm f/1.2 lens to create a very soft focus point that blurs everything out of the focus area.
This lens has some crazy bokeh effects and can blur so much of the background so that your subject really stands out from the rest of the image.
I have never really used this lens for this type of photography before and it is pretty fun experimenting with it. It does take some getting used to because it is extremely easy to miss the focus on things because the depth of field is so small, but when you do nail the focus, it creates some very cool images.

The first picture looks like the flower that's blooming at my house. Sadly though, I am not there to capture it myself. I especially like the last picture and if I ever get home, I'll try to experiment with the color highlight and color balance.

the blurred background is really subtle and cool too. I can never get to look the way I want it to.
That is all in the lens. This is a pretty expensive lens, but it has amazing soft bokeh that makes it worth the price.
Quality costs money. Sometimes there are just no short cuts or subsitutes

Woo they look spectacular! I loved how you edited them. I just shared some flower pics too, but they are far from looking like yours! 😁 I still don't know how to edit at your level. I'll try to try this edit next time and get out of my comfort zone. 👍
It is all about finding your own look. I use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos and I like to play around with all the different sliders to try and make something cool looking.

I wanted to see another kind of flowers, you know what I mean. In the future maybe if Axie Infinity bears fruit for me then I will acquire a camera to take pictures like you, they are beautiful.
Well I have plenty of posts about the special flowers too. Hopefully that Axie thing works out for you. It would be cool if you started taking pictures. It really opens your eyes on the world.
the lighting is great in these, I like the dark shadowy style. Great light contrast for sure, suits my sensitive eyes.
