Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!
This is my 48th week (In a row - nearly a year now!) contributing to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 113 overall!
In all of my TTT entries I like to play the songs on guitar as well as share the original videos... and my current pattern for "Three Tune Tuesday" is to pick three songs by one of my favourite artists, that has inspired me - as I also write original songs.
This week I would like to tackle the King of Pop - Michael Jackson!
For the first song, I will do his first number one hit as a solo artist (he had previous number one hits as part of "The Jackson Five"). Michael Jackson was a mere 14 with this solo hit about a friendship with a pet rat called "Ben". Here is the original (isn't his high pitched childhood voice divine?):
For the second song, I will do the beautiful "Heal the World". It was a tough choice between this one and the equally poingant "Earth Song", but here it is:
Finally, let's up the tempo a bit, because we are talking about the dancing, moon-walking, King of Pop here! I wish there were two or three of me to play this song for you, because the bass-line is iconic, and so is the little riff that I will try to add in where I can! I am talking about "Billie Jean"! Here is the original!
So that's week 113 done and dusted! I hope you enjoyed the songs by Michael Jackson? Which song was your favourite? Did I miss an important one to you?
And so, which artist will I do three covers of next week, for TTT number 114?
I hope you tune in to find out, and thank you so much for clicking/watching/reading this time!!

Michael Jackson was a musical genius. A weirdo but a musical genius. I remember my neighbor had the VHS of his music videos. We were obsessed!
Good! Let's add Billie Jean to the covers list! Complete with playing two pennywhistles at once! Hahaha!
Oh lhort what have I done 🤣
Great musician, nice cover on songs from early years I had not heard.
Earth song was a tremendous hit, still enjoyed to this day packed with meaning.
Having the good fortune seeing him live in Durban taking my sons years ago the last song was one of his greatest numbers.

Damn, that's an impressive set! Can I make a cover request for Thriller?
Oh wow, I think between Earth Song and Thriller, Michael Jackson might have to join the 'Part 2' List! Thank you so much!
You reminded me I took a shot at "Earth Song" way back in week 68 of HIVE Open mic.
Never tried Thriller before but I did get a bit obsessed with trying to learn all the lyrics last Halloween, maybe ill take a shot at it this Halloween season.
Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Éxitos y muchas bendiciones buen amigo! Gracias por el regalo de tu música que enriquece a la comunidad 🧡✨
