A different day lining up. Meeting a friend off Flinders Street for lunch - took the
train and Metro and then walked down

Gadigal Metro just up where I used to work - Bathurst St exit giving quicker access to Hyde Park

Old department store - sign says Downing - was long gone by the time I arrived in Sydney in 2000

Museum Station and signs of Christmas

View of ANZAC memorial from the other side to last walk this way

More signs of Christmas up Oxford Street

Sign of the times in the midst of the promiscuous heart of Sydney. We do not see signs like this in the suburbs

Was a bit early for my lunch - walked a loop on Surry Hills down Bourke Street - a touch of Art Deco to start

Old church - could not make out the words

Wesleyan Methodist Church used now as a refuge opposite

A few of the old style cottages - brick colour suggests a bit younger than the next one

Red brick fits better with the surrounds

Old Hopetown Hotel - a bit fall down

We are in Sydney Swans country - the home ground is under 2 miles away.
We had a good lunch. Walked down to Central Station to get Metro home
Cooked dinner a friend - simple burger patties from scratch, potato rősti and veges

I really enjoyed how you captured the vibe of Sydney during the holidays. All the little details from the walk made it feel like I was right there exploring the city with you.
It does pay to walk the city one lives in - and take notice of what is changing. There is always a story to be told and a photo to be taken. Tomorrow will be the same - what to do on a hot day?
