Castellania è il paese natale di Coppi.
Nella foto vediamo le statue di Fausto Coppi insieme a Biagio Cavanna, il suo eccezionale massaggiatore cieco, a Ettore Milano e Sandrino Carrea, inseparabili gregari. In piedi Pierino Zanelli, anche lui massaggiatore.
Fausto Coppi è stato uno dei più grandi campioni del ciclismo mondiale.
Solo pochi come lui : Eddie Merckx, Costante Girardengo, Indurain.
Fausto Coppi ha vinto 5 volte il Giro d’Italia, 2 volte il tour de France, è stato campione del mondo su strada nel 1953, campione del mondo di inseguimento su pista nel 1947 e nel 1949, ha vinto 5 volte il Giro di Lombardia e tre volte la Milano-San Remo, oltre ai successi nella Parigi- Roubaix e altre innumerevoli vittorie. Ha detenuto il record dell’ora dal 1941 al 1956.
Celebre la sua rivalità con Bartali.
