The Hive community absolutely must know the beauty of the natural landscapes of the island of Gozo!
Even though it is located only 5 km from the island of Malta (25 minutes by ferry), it is profoundly different from the capital. Gozo is a third of the size of Malta, it is sparsely populated, rural and quiet.

The aspect that struck me the most is the presence of very picturesque natural landscapes, with wild vegetation and the crystalline coast of blue sea.
The territory of Gozo is distinguished by large uncontaminated areas where, here and there, beautiful baroque churches and small villages appear.
L’aspetto che mi ha maggiormente colpito è la presenza di paesaggi naturali molto pittoreschi, con la vegetazione selvaggia e la costa cristallina di mare blu.
Il territorio di Gozo si distingue per le ampie aree incontaminate dove spuntano, qua e là, delle belle chiese barocche e piccoli villaggi.

All history buffs will be satisfied by a visit to Gozo, as this place is home to more than 7000 years of culture. In fact, it is believed that the nymph Calypso, described in Homer's Odyssey, lived on this island.
On the island of Gozo there are also the mysterious temples of the Giants (Ggantija), dating back to 3600 BC, which is the oldest human construction in the world, even before the pyramids in Egypt and Stonehenge!
The structure is made up of two megaliths in the shape of a huge woman, which could represent fertility. The mysterious appearance is due to the fact that some megaliths weigh more than 50 tons and, therefore, it makes it clear that the builders of the Neolithic period used very advanced techniques.
Tutti gli appassionati di storia saranno soddisfatti dalla visita a Gozo, in quanto questo luogo ospita più di 7000 anni di cultura. Infatti, in questa isola si crede vivesse la ninfa Calipso, descritta nell’Odissea di Omero.
Nell’isola di Gozo si trovano anche i misteriosi templi dei Giganti (Ggantija), risalenti al 3600 a.C., ovvero la costruzione umana più antica del mondo, addirittura anteriore alle piramidi in Egitto e a Stonehenge!
La struttura è costituita da due megaliti a forma di donna enorme, che potrebbe rappresentare la fertilità. L’aspetto misterioso è dovuto al fatto che alcuni megaliti pesano più di 50 tonnellate e, quindi, fa capire che i costruttori del Neolitico impiegavano tecniche molto avanzate.
