Why Have The Updates Taken So Long?
Man, it's been awhile. I know many of you may be wondering what we have been up to and I'm glad to give you a look at what we have been working on, but before we get to the meat of the matter I want to discuss some challenges we have faced.
The following is here for transparency purposes. The WOO team has had a great amount of challenges lately and it can mostly be explained by workflow issues. Due to our limited developer team we are reliant on our team to push out these updates. Many of these updates have been finished for awhile, but we were constantly waiting on some to push these changes through to go into a test net and then into the main branch. Since our team has only a few developers and many of the team are not familiar with development practices and procedures, our hands were tied and we had to wait.
Much of the time we had to wait was due to health-related issues, but we have now fixed the workflow issues. We now have the ability to auto build not only to the test net but also to the main branch. We are now no longer beholden to waiting on anyone to push the builds through. This is a massive step forward and we are excited for what the future can bring now. Enough about this though. Let's get into the updates!
WOO Update Log
We are beyond excited to share our first major update in a long time, and we’re not just stopping at digital improvements. This update brings a host of exciting changes, tweaks, and new features to enhance your WOO experience. Plus, we’re thrilled to announce something monumental: the WOO Physical Trading Card Game is on the way! Along with it, we’re introducing promotional cards that showcase our partnerships and the wider Hive ecosystem.
Let’s dive into everything we’ve been working on.
1. Delegated Card Restrictions
To ensure fair play and clarity, cards that have been delegated can no longer be used by the person who delegated them. This change reinforces strategic use of delegation while maintaining balance in the game.
What This Means for You
- Clear ownership boundaries for delegated cards.
- Encourages true collaboration and strategic partnerships.
Previously, there was a bug when a card was delegated both of the users could use the card.
2. Improved Reward System
The Earn Page has been revamped to make rewards more predictable and consistent. Players who may have fallen behind now have better opportunities to catch up and stay competitive.

- Rewards are distributed more regularly.
- Enhanced balancing ensures fairness across all player levels.
3. Faster and More Efficient City Travel
We’ve optimized the Fast City Travel feature, making it more efficient than ever. Moving between cities is now quicker, saving you time while keeping the action going.
Enhancements
- Reduced travel time for smoother transitions.
- Streamlined navigation to key destinations.
- Improved efficiency to keep gameplay moving fast.
4. Brand-New Event Page
Introducing the Event Page, your central hub for all things event-related! This feature makes participating in live events seamless and exciting.
Event Page Features
- Leaderboard: Track your performance with detailed stats:
- Wins
- Ties
- Losses
- Expected Rewards
- Event Information: Find everything you need to know about the event in one place:
- Timeframes
- Rules and mechanics
- Prize breakdown
- Quick Access: We’re adding an Event Card to the main page so you can jump directly to the Event Page with a single click.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a new player, the Event Page makes it easy to dive into the action.

5. Advanced Filters for Marketplace and Collection Pages
Navigating your collection is now easier than ever with our new filtering options. These powerful filters allow you to find the exact cards you need in seconds.
New Filter Options
- Rarity: Sort cards by Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary.
- Categories: Filter by Male, Female, Tag Team, or Manager cards.
- Belts: Quickly locate Silver Belts and Gold Belts.
- Custom Combinations: Mix and match filters for precise searches.
6. Introducing the WOO Physical Trading Card Game
We’re taking WOO beyond the digital realm with the release of the WOO Physical Trading Card Game! This exciting new addition allows players to collect, trade, and battle in real life with beautifully designed cards inspired by your favorite wrestlers, moves, and moments. We will start by releasing fully playable starter decks, but we will also release physical packs for you crack addicts out there.
What to Expect
- Official Decks: Starter decks and booster packs featuring WOO wrestlers, managers, moves, and more.
- Dynamic Gameplay: Designed and tested to be it's own standalone game. This format plays differently than the auto-battler version and is similar to Pokemon and Magic the Gathering. Look for a dedicated post about gameplay very, very soon.
- Exclusive Cards: Rare and collectible cards that will only allow a digital redemption of physical packs! Yes, that's right. We are including QR codes so players can redeem a digital version of their cards for the upcoming digital format of the physical game.
- Community Play: Host local tournaments or join online communities to compete with fans worldwide. We are in the process of making this version playable online also, so don't worry if you're having trouble finding players in your local community!
Promotional Cards
We’re thrilled to include promotional cards in the WOO Physical Trading Card Game, featuring:
- Hive: Promoting the blockchain that powers WOO and its thriving ecosystem. These cards will have a QR code that will allow players to learn about Hive and create a Hive account. We feel this will help bring awareness to Hive and increase the user base.
- Partnered Wrestlers: Exclusive cards showcasing our partnered wrestlers. We will start with Perry Saturn and Raven starter decks but soon we will expand to the rest of our roster! Also, sales will go to benefit WOO partner wrestlers financially.
- Partnered Projects:
- @splinterlands: The acclaimed digital trading card game will have a promotional card with a QR code that brings players directly to their website!
- @dcrops: A unique farming simulation game that will also have a promotional card that has a QR that will bring users directly to their website.
- @thunkgaria: Another exciting partner expanding our network will have a promotional card bringing people to their Discord server.
- InLeo FKA @leofinance: Promoting engagement within the Hive ecosystem will also have a promotional card with a QR code that brings people straight to their InLeo dApp!
These promotional cards celebrate the partnerships that make WOO and Hive a growing force in blockchain gaming and beyond. We feel it's important to give back to those projects that have helped shape WOO!
Why These Changes Matter
This update and the introduction of the WOO Physical Trading Card Game represent our commitment to growing the WOO universe. Here’s how these changes make WOO better:
- Balanced Gameplay: Delegated card restrictions and reward tweaks ensure fair competition.
- Better Experience: Enhanced navigation, faster travel, and event integration make gameplay seamless.
- Expanded Universe: The physical trading card game and promotional cards bring WOO to life in new and exciting ways. This also allows exposure of Hive to the typical TCG physical card players, as well as expanding the brand and creating new revenue streams. Not only will this increase revenue for the company, but 10% of sales will directly go to our partnered wrestlers.
You may be thinking, "Helping the partners is great and getting Hive out there is nice, but how will this help bring value to the $WOO token?"
I'm glad you asked! Every starter deck we sell we will take $1 of the sale and we will convert it into Hive. We will then use @keychain and their amazing swap feature to swap it into SWAP.HIVE. With that SWAP.HIVE we will use 50% to buy $WOO tokens from the WOO:SWAPHIVE liquidity pool. We will then use the remaining 50% to buy $WOO off of the market. The $WOO obtained from the liquidity pool and market will then be funneled back into p2e rewards. This approach will slowly drive up the price of the $WOO token and will also show our continued aim to bring value to all of our assets.
7. WrestleCade Weekend Hive Signups
Over the Holiday weekend @bookerman was at WrestleCade (the second-largest wrestling convention in the world) where he was pushing Hive like no other. Having a presence at these conventions is good for WOO and Hive because it gets both brands out there to the public. We are excited to announce that over 700 users signed up for Hive accounts and they will all be given Bookers Licenses for the WOO game on Hive.
We are excited to add to our player base as well as increase the number of users that are introduced to Hive. We will be taking this week to draft personalized emails to all users who signed up giving them a walkthrough of how to use Hive, interact with our Dapp, interact with partner Dapps (@keychain, @dcrops, @leofinance, @splinterlands), and how to interact with communities like ours using @peakd, @leofinance, @hive.blog, @ecency, @threespeak, @dbuzz and others!
The next event we have planned is WrestleCon 2025 held in April in Las Vegas during WrestleMania weekend! This is the biggest wrestling convention in the world and we look to have even more sign up there. We will also have our Physical TCG available for purchase with QR codes for our partners and Hive Sign-ups in each and every starter deck!
