Our Secondborn Has Graduated Kindergarten!

in Feel Good5 days ago

Our secondborn, Micah has graduated! It was a day we have been anticipating. There was an alert there might be stormy rain as the Senyar typhoon was passing by West Malaysia so the teachers were trying to reach out to us parents if there is a possibility to reschedule. We prayed and God lifted the storm, literally seeing Him turning things around! The typhoon passed by us shorter than the forecast and left no damage, praise God!

The weather was perfect. Micah was actually very nervous and worried if he would miss out any steps or do anything wrong. His teacher gave him an encouragement to not be scared right before sending him on stage. He did it! We are so immensely proud of him ♥️

The school even did this wall of cubes for each student for us to see how they have progressed over the years from 3 to 6 years old. Some children joined the kindergarten at 3 years old but my son joined at 5 years old at K2.

The graduation ceremony started with our national anthem followed by the graduates' singing the school anthem. Then there was a recital of a thanksgiving speech that they have practised for months. Next, it was the presentations of the graduation scrolls to each of the graduate. Then there was an unexpected acting of how the school scenarios had been when they forst started kindergarten and what they have been doing in the kindergarten and outings. Finally, there was another round of songs presentations before we were dismissed and went around to take as many photos as we could with all teachers and friends.

I was surprised that one of his best friends' mum got him a graduation bouquet too! So kind of her!

I sent him in when I was heavily pregnant and about to deliver his sister. From crying in school in his first month to now he walks confidently into school wanting to be the first to arrive, we really appreciate what his teachers have done for him and his classmates. His teacher slowly wins his trust and dependency over. The teachers get to slowly know them and treat and guide them according to the child's personality, this I am so thankful for. We enjoyed many of the school activities in this school too, making many memories of seeing how Micah stepped up to perform and gets opportunities to achieve his confidence. Many of which, he still sings the songs and does the actions very often at home or when we are out. He has made many friends, whom he always story about the moment he steps into the car every day. Most importantly, he has learnt that school can be a safe place and he can trust his teachers to have his back.

Now that he is leaving and has graduated, of course we feel sad as he parts with his teachers and friends into separate ways. We still hope to keep in touch and wishing everyone the very best! It is a blessing to be in this kindergarten and Micah is blessed to be able to have great childhood memories here❣️ I have a lot of mixed feelings seeing him graduating, to which I am still processing 😭 But one thing is for sure, we are so proud of our secondborn for making it! I am also pretty sure he is very proud of himself too😍
