Shedding some light on some of CoinGecko's ongoing candies reward "airdrop"

I want to shed some light on some news and opportunity you may have seen on CoinGecko if you have been loyally collect CoinGecko Candies (thank you if you do).

If you don't already know about Candies, it is a rewards program offered by @coingecko. By using the CoinGecko website and app on the daily, you an claim differing amount of candy tokens based on how many days you have been collecting consecutively. These tokens can then be used to redeem various perks and benefits, such as discounts on CoinGecko products and services or exclusive access to events and content. CoinGecko Candy is designed to provide users with a fun and engaging way to earn rewards while using the CoinGecko platform.

So as of the Christmas period, CoinGecko has rolled out 2 notable rewards - a free wearables NFT on Decentraland, and free ACS tokens.

1. I highly recommend you collect the AIRDROP: ICE Poker Tournament Wearable for a funky decentraland skin. I don't think you can sell them for much on the secondary market though, at least not right after the promotion period.

2. Access Protocol Tokens, IMO you probably want to read how Access Protocol works before trying to jump in.

TLDR: ACS tokens wont worth money, as far as I know there is no market for that token as shown by the lack of CoinGecko page for this token. it's not an "Airdrop" in the way you understood airdrops.

I've been seeing some conversation about how this is a "CoinGecko Airdrop" and I am concerned that they will be disappointed when the tokens are finally distributed.

The real value if the ACS airdrop is to gain access to premium content from creators via staking instead of the traditional pay-for-access type structure. So as such you'd be able to stake your ACS tokens in the CoinGecko Staking pool for access to premium CoinGecko content.

I guess any question you can always ask here on the Hive blockchain. Although I hope everyone is excited to claim those rewards as I am excited to share them to fellow users.
