Hola amigos de la comunidad de DIYHub, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Este es mi primer post en la comunidad por lo cual me siento muy emocionada de compartirles un nacimiento navideño que realice junto a mi mamá. El nacimiento del Niño Jesús es algo que algunas personas suelen realizar o comprar para que, cuando se acerque las fechas decembrinas puedan colocarlo en el mejor lugar y decorarlo a su gusto, siempre respetando el lugar sagrado donde nació Jesús. Es la primera vez que hacemos un nacimiento con todo incluido, ya que siempre colocabamos el nacimiento en algún lugar y en la fecha del 25 destapamos al Niño Jesús cómo representación de su nacimiento.

Hello friends of the DIYHub community, I hope you are all doing well. This is my first post in the community, so I am very excited to share with you a Christmas nativity scene that I made with my mum. The nativity scene of the Baby Jesus is something that some people tend to make or buy so that, when the Christmas season approaches, they can place it in the best spot and decorate it to their liking, always respecting the sacred place where Jesus was born. This is the first time we've made a nativity scene with everything included, as we always used to place the nativity scene somewhere and then on the 25th we would uncover the Baby Jesus as a representation of his birth.

Materiales / Materials

• Cajas de cartón que ya no vayamos a utilizar, de diferentes tamaños para hacer los niveles del lugar del nacimiento.

• Papel Craft o Papel marrón para cubrir todo el cartón y darle un aspecto más realista.

• Temperas de color blanco, anaranjado, gris, marrón, azul, negro y amarillo. (También puede ser utilizadas cualquier tipo de pinturas como pintura al frío)

• Tijeras y Silicon líquido para pegar cada parte que va a ir en el nacimiento.

• Una esponja para usarla para decorar el cielo y la tierra en el espacio libre del nacimiento.

• Luces de navidad para cubrir al final nuestro nacimiento.

• Cardboard boxes that we are no longer going to use, of different sizes to make the levels of the nativity scene.

• Craft paper or brown paper to cover all the cardboard and give it a more realistic look.

• White, orange, grey, brown, blue, black and yellow tempera paints. (Any type of paint can also be used, such as cold paint).

• Scissors and liquid silicone to glue each part that will go into the nativity scene.

• A sponge to use to decorate the sky and earth in the empty space of the nativity scene.

• Christmas lights to cover our nativity scene at the end.

Comenzamos buscando las cajas desechables que utilizaremos para crear el espacio donde va a ir el nacimiento, pueden ser tres cajas de diferentes tamaños, podemos poner desde la más grande hasta la más pequeña, las pegamos un poco con el Silicon líquido al suelo y también a la pared para que no se nos vaya a despegar o a caer. Cuando tengamos listo el lugar con las cajas en su lugar, procedemos a cortar los cartones que van a ser utilizados para hacer la casa donde irá el nacimiento, esta la podemos hacer primero cortando un cartón que va a ser la base o el suelo de la casa, luego cortamos otro cartón para hacer las paredes de la casa, lo pegamos muy bien a la base y luego pegamos lo que sería el techo también con cartón, no tengo las medidas exactas pero todo depende del tamaño que quieras hacer el nacimiento.

We begin by looking for the disposable boxes that we will use to create the space where the nativity scene will go. These can be three boxes of different sizes, from the largest to the smallest. We glue them to the floor and also to the wall with liquid silicone so that they do not come unstuck or fall over. Once we have the space ready with the boxes in place, we proceed to cut the cardboard that will be used to make the house where the nativity scene will go. We can do this first by cutting a piece of cardboard that will be the base or floor of the house. then we cut another piece of cardboard to make the walls of the house, glue it securely to the base and then glue what will be the roof, also made of cardboard. I don't have the exact measurements, but it all depends on the size you want to make the nativity scene.

Después de que la casa esté ya pegada y bien estructurada, procedemos a colocar pequeños trozos de cartón del mismo tamaño para hacer el tejado de la casa y también parte del suelo de la casa. Pegamos todo muy bien y procedemos a pintar primero el techo con una combinación de pintura de color marrón claro y luego agregamos los detalles con un marrón más oscuro, si no tenemos pintura marrón podemos combinar un poco de azul con rojo, luego de combinar la mezcla colocamos un poco de pintura amarilla y por último un poco más de color rojo, todo tiene que mezclarse bien para que nos dé el tono marrón que buscamos aunque queda un poco oscuro por lo que es mejor tomar pocas cantidades al pintar.

Once the house is glued together and well structured, we proceed to place small pieces of cardboard of the same size to make the roof of the house and also part of the floor. We glue everything together well and proceed to paint the ceiling first with a combination of light brown paint and then add the details with a darker brown. If we do not have brown paint, we can combine a little blue with red. After mixing the colours, add a little yellow paint and finally a little more red. Everything must be mixed well to achieve the brown tone we are looking for, although it will be a little dark, so it is best to use small amounts when painting.

El siguiente paso después de pintar el techo es pintar el piso del mismo color del techo y también agregamos algunos trozos de cartón para darle un efecto más realista y rústico a nuestra casa. Para hacerle algunos detalles utilizamos un marrón más oscuro y podemos pintar entre las tejas y así el techo de la casa se verá mejor. Después podemos pintar las paredes de color blanco y al final como un toque especial en la parte del final de la casa pintamos una pared como de ladrillos pero esta vez combinando el color negro con un poco de blanco para hacerle ver más detallado. Dejamos secar todo muy bien y procedemos a buscar el papel Craft o el que tengan de preferencia marrón.

The next step after painting the ceiling is to paint the floor the same colour as the ceiling and also add some pieces of cardboard to give our house a more realistic and rustic effect. To add some details, we use a darker brown and paint between the tiles so that the roof of the house looks better. Then we can paint the walls white and finally, as a special touch at the end of the house, we paint one wall to look like bricks, but this time combining black with a little white to make it look more detailed. We let everything dry thoroughly and then look for craft paper or brown paper, whichever you prefer.

El papel lo tenemos que arrugar bien para darle ese efecto de un ambiente natural, luego de arrugar bien el papel lo vamos colocando sobre las cajas y lo vamos pegando con el Silicon líquido, en este paso hay que tener cuidado porque el Silicon caliente puede resultar en quemaduras. Seguimos pegando el papel en todas nuestras cajas de forma desorganizada ya que da un efecto más realista al nacimiento. También en la parte trasera de la casa donde irá la casa que ya hemos realizado, pegamos papel Craft arrugado y cuando esté listo y seco podemos proceder a pintar los lados del nacimiento simulando con el color marrón un ambiente de montaña, luego también pintamos la parte sobre la casita donde también pegamos papel Craft, usando una combinación de color azul y blanco para hacer el cielo y luego un poco de color blanco con una esponja para ir haciendo el efecto de nubes.

We have to crumple the paper well to give it that natural look. After crumpling the paper well, we place it on the boxes and stick it down with liquid silicone. Be careful during this step because hot silicone can cause burns. We continue to glue the paper onto all our boxes in a disorganised manner, as this gives a more realistic effect to the nativity scene. We also glue crumpled craft paper to the back of the house where we will place the house we have already made. When it is ready and dry, we can proceed to paint the sides of the nativity scene, using brown to simulate a mountain environment. Then we also paint the part above the little house where we also stick craft paper, using a combination of blue and white to make the sky and then a little white with a sponge to create the effect of clouds.

Procedemos a colocar el nacimiento, en nuestro caso ya teníamos un nacimiento que tiene bastante tiempo en casa y lo colocamos de forma que tanto María, José y el Niño Jesús quedarán dentro de la casa y los demás alrededor del nacimiento, ya sean ovejas, los reyes y cualquier otra figura que pueda colocarse. El nacimiento que tenemos en casa es algo grande por lo que tuvimos que colocar algunas cosas de forma que pudieran entrar en toda la casa y los alrededores. Por último colocamos luces de navidad, nosotros tenemos unas blancas y se las colocamos y se veía muy bonito, no tienen que ser muchas luces con unas pequeñas bastan y se ve muy bonito el nacimiento.

We proceed to set up the nativity scene. In our case, we already had a nativity scene that we had had at home for quite some time, and we set it up so that Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus would be inside the house and the others around the nativity scene, whether they were sheep, the Three Wise Men, or any other figures that could be placed there. The nativity scene we have at home is quite large, so we had to arrange some things so that they could fit inside the house and around it. Finally, we put up Christmas lights. We have white ones, and we put them up and it looked very nice. You don't need a lot of lights; a few small ones are enough and the nativity scene looks very pretty.

Realmente en diciembre una de las cosas que más disfruto es poder ver a mi mamá emocionarse por colocar cada adorno y el árbol de navidad, ella disfruta de esta fecha porque le trae buenos recuerdos de su juventud y nosotros también junto a ella viéndole al final feliz de poder decorar de forma simple pero bonita nuestra casa. Es nuestra primera vez realizando un nacimiento como este y se lleva bastante tiempo y trabajo hacerlo jaja 😂 o al menos a nosotros que nunca habíamos hecho uno antes. Espero que se animen a realizar su nacimiento y que compartan sus fotografías, lleva su tiempo pero vale la pena ver el resultado al final. ♥️☺️

One of the things I enjoy most in December is seeing my mum get excited about putting up each decoration and the Christmas tree. She enjoys this time of year because it brings back fond memories of her youth, and we enjoy it too, watching her happily decorate our home in a simple but beautiful way. This is our first time making a nativity scene like this, and it takes quite a bit of time and work to do it, haha 😂, or at least for us, since we've never done one before.
