Caracas Blockchain Week 2023 por @pelulacro

En el mejor escenario: los espacios de la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas, Venezuela), se celebró el evento Caracas Blockchain Week 2023, los días viernes 27 y sábado 28 de octubre. La doble jornada se dividió en tres ambientes: Libertex Stage en el aula magna, Education Stage en el auditorio de la Biblioteca y la exposición de equipos, productos o promociones de las empresas participantes con el apoyo de la excelente logística de seguridad del equipo de protocolo de la universidad.

En los dos auditorios se presentaron conferencias y paneles de expertos nacionales e invitados especiales provenientes de Colombia, México, USA y Reino Unido quienes también interactuaron con los asistentes en los pasillos donde se ubicaron los stands de la exposición. Sería muy largo este post para comentar el contenido del extenso programa de ponencias o conferencias. En mi caso particular, me siento satisfecho y creo, sinceramente, que el evento superó mis expectativas. No soy experto en Economía ni en Finanzas y hoy creo que no solo aclaré muchas dudas que tenía sobre el mundo de las criptomonedas en la economía y las finanzas; sino que aprendí en esta interesante jornada sobre la tecnología de la web3; por ello felicito a sus organizadores y promotores de estos eventos educativos.

El otro aspecto interesante, a mi parecer, es el crecimiento y la importancia que cada día cobra una plataforma como Hive y sus comunidades que, según lo afirmado en este evento, es de significativo valor toda vez que ya está consolidada en muchos países y funciona con la tecnología Web3; así lo reconocieron varios panelistas en esta jornada y cada día se integran más participantes atraídos no solo por el beneficio económico que reportan las publicaciones; sino por las posibilidades abiertas a la publicación de contenidos originales en una amplia gama de temas y especialidades; desde la literatura, el arte, la gastronomía, pasando por la fotografía, el video, la orientación psicológica, ingeniería, la educación, el deporte y por supuesto las finanzas, entre otros temas de interés; menos la política. Los usuarios no solo crean sus propios contenidos; sino que pueden interactuar con creadores de cualquier parte del mundo a través de los comentarios que, de acuerdo a su calidad, pueden ser votados y remunerados.

La filosofía de la web3 se resume en la realidad del usuario quien sigue siendo dueño de sus datos y esto conlleva la responsabilidad de resguardar sus contraseñas; cosa que no sucede así en las otras plataformas de web2. En cuanto a las remuneraciones en Hives, es un capital que se va acumulando en la billetera (wallet) y que puede ser retirado en cualquier momento para hacer compras de productos o pago de servicios en las empresas o comercios afiliados al sistema. De igual modo, parte del capital ahorrado puede ser cambiado en efectivo en divisas o en bolívares. Ya existen empresas en Venezuela que trabajan con cambios en euros y proyectan incorporar otras divisas como el yuan o el rublo.

Casi todos los ponentes coincidieron en afirmar que poseer ahorros en criptomonedas es como guardar oro, con todos los riesgos que eso implica; pero son riesgos no asociados a los acontecimientos políticos o conflictos entre países porque se trata de sistemas descentralizados; no dependen de ningún gobierno o de un Banco Central, ni de la dinámica de la guerra o de los precios del petróleo; lo esencial es informarse adecuadamente para elegir empresas responsables. La plataforma Hive ha venido creciendo en muchos países por su gran atractivo de congregar creadores de contenidos originales sin más censura que la que impone la norma del respeto a los otros usuarios y evitar la publicación de contenidos reñidos con la moral y las buenas costumbres, dado que ya es notoria la participación de adolescentes y de personas de todas las creencias o ideologías. Definitivamente, el mundo está unido en Hive.

The Caracas Blockchain Week 2023 event was held in the best scenario: the spaces of the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Caracas, Venezuela), on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October. The double day was divided into three environments: Libertex Stage in the aula magna, Education Stage in the Library auditorium and the exhibition of equipment, products or promotions of the participating companies with the support of the excellent security logistics of the university protocol team.

The two auditoriums featured lectures and panels by national experts and special guests from Colombia, Mexico, the USA and the UK, who also interacted with attendees in the aisles where the exhibition stands were located. It would take too long a post to comment on the content of the extensive program of lectures and conferences. In my particular case, I feel satisfied and I sincerely believe that the event exceeded my expectations. I am not an expert in Economics or Finance and today I believe that I not only cleared up many doubts I had about the world of cryptocurrencies in the economy and finance; but I also learned in this interesting conference about web3 technology; therefore I congratulate the organizers and promoters of these educational events.

The other interesting aspect, in my opinion, is the growth and importance that a platform such as Hive and its communities are gaining every day, which, according to what was stated in this event, is of significant value since it is already consolidated in many countries and works with Web3 technology; this was recognized by several panelists in this event and every day more participants are integrated, attracted not only by the economic benefit of the publications; but by the possibilities open to the publication of original content on a wide range of topics and specialties; from literature, art to gastronomy, including photography, video, psychological counseling, engineering, education, sports and of course finance, among other topics of interest, minus politics. Users not only create their own content, but can also interact with creators from anywhere in the world through comments that, according to their quality, can be voted and remunerated.

The philosophy of the web3 is summarized in the reality of the user who remains the owner of his data and this entails the responsibility of safeguarding his passwords; something that does not happen in other web2 platforms. As for the remunerations in Hives, it is a capital that is accumulated in the wallet and that can be withdrawn at any time to make purchases of products or payment of services in the companies or businesses affiliated to the system. Part of the capital saved can also be exchanged for cash in foreign currency or bolivars. There are already companies in Venezuela that work with euro exchanges and are planning to incorporate other currencies such as the yuan or the ruble.

Almost all the speakers agreed that holding savings in cryptocurrencies is like holding gold, with all the risks that this implies; but they are risks not associated with political events or conflicts between countries because they are decentralized systems; they do not depend on any government or Central Bank, nor on the dynamics of war or oil prices; the essential thing is to be properly informed in order to choose responsible companies. The Hive platform has been growing in many countries due to its great attraction of bringing together creators of original content with no censorship other than that imposed by the rule of respect for other users and avoiding the publication of content that goes against morals and good customs, given that the participation of teenagers and people of all beliefs and ideologies is already notorious. Definitely, the world is united in Hive.
