Un místico que en su teoría siempre se ha basado en la ejemplaridad que debe significar un lanzador, ese mismo que sin hacer mucho ruido convirtió el brazo del gran Mariano Rivera en el máximo taponero de las grandes ligas.
Ese que cada leyenda de nuestro beisbol le ha dado los brazos de sus hijos y los han reparado con precisión de cirujano. Además de lo hecho por el profesor Cortina, es valioso señalar que esta provincia es la única con más de 10 lanzadores con 100 o más victorias, desde Pedro Luis Lazo, Jose Ariel Contreras, Omar Ajete, Faustino Corrales, Rogelio García, Jesús Guerra, Maximiliano Gutiérrez, Juan Carlos Oliva hasta los actuales, Vladimir Baños, Yosvani Torres y Erlys Casanova han dibujado una excelsa carrera de más de 1200 victorias para esta provincia.
