[ESP-ENG] Héroes sin distinción -- Heroes without distinction

En el siglo XXI, el deporte ha avanzado en muchos aspectos como; innovación tecnológica, marketing, inclusión, beneficencia, premios, lazos políticos, económicos, estructuras deportivas y todo lo que requiere el impulso para que cada evento deportivo se lleve a cabo de la mejor manera. Sin embargo, hay una mancha que perjudica lo positivo que las disciplinas deportivas significan y de manera particular a los atletas que se preparan a diario para representar a un club, selección y llevan en alto la bandera de su nación. ¿Cómo erradicar el racismo?

In the 21st century, sport has advanced in many aspects such as; technological innovation, marketing, inclusion, charity, awards, political and economic ties, sports structures and everything that requires the impulse for each sporting event to be carried out in the best way. However, there is a stain that harms the positive that sports disciplines mean and in particular the athletes who prepare daily to represent a club, national team and carry high the flag of their nation. How can racism be eradicated?

Parece increíble que en esta época aún las personas no asimilan la igualdad de todos en el mundo. El fanático cree que al comprar un ticket para asistir a un juego tiene licencia para juzgar al deportista por su color de piel, olvidando lo que el atleta hace para que su equipo sea el vencedor, que tiene familia, compromiso moral con todos sus seguidores sin importar edad, religión, clase social y mucho menos si es blanco o de piel oscura. Cuando el fanático ofende a un jugador olvida muchos detalles; es un ser humano y eso vale más que los millones que pueda obtener por su contrato, siente, llora y ríe como todos porque no es un robot.

It seems incredible that in this day and age people still do not assimilate the equality of everyone in the world. The fan believes that by buying a ticket to attend a game he has license to judge the athlete by his skin color, forgetting what the athlete does to make his team the winner, that he has a family, a moral commitment to all his followers regardless of age, religion, social class and much less if he is white or dark skinned. When the fan offends a player he forgets many details; he is a human being and that is worth more than the millions he can get for his contract, he feels, cries and laughs like everyone else because he is not a robot.

Es difícil controlar a miles de fanáticos y saber con precisión quien emite un comentario. Si de algo estoy segura, es que los atletas con sus virtudes y defectos sudan la camisa que representan con más honestidad y valor que las personas que están sentadas y critican pero no aportan para que el mundo mejore.

It is difficult to control thousands of fans and know precisely who is making a comment. If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that athletes with their virtues and flaws sweat the shirt they represent with more honesty and courage than people who sit and criticize but do not contribute to make the world a better place.

El deporte es una herramienta fundamental en el desarrollo de una nación y aleja a los niños y jóvenes del vicio. Si usted no lo percibe, entonces no asista al juego a perjudicar al atleta que deja la piel, alma, corazón y hasta se lesiona de manera grave luchando para que miles o millones de personas duerman felices.

Hoy más que nunca recordamos al gran Martin Luther King, pastor estadounidense y activista de los derechos civiles y su discurso “I have a dream”, yo también tengo un sueño y es ver a un mundo lleno de empatía y solidaridad. Los atletas son héroes del deporte y no siguen un color porque su talento no es limitado, entonces, que no se pretenda ser juez de quienes nos liberan por momentos de las presiones de la sociedad.

Today more than ever we remember the great Martin Luther King, American pastor and civil rights activist and his speech "I have a dream", I also have a dream and that is to see a world full of empathy and solidarity. Athletes are sports heroes and do not follow a color because their talent is not limited, so let us not pretend to be judges of those who free us for moments from the pressures of society.
