Otra liga infravalorada [ESP-ENG]

Unas semanas atrás estaban transmitiendo en la televisión un documental sobre la vida futbolística del argentino Ángel Di María. Allí me enteré de varias anécdotas muy curiosas del Fideo, además de conocer un poquito mejor de sus actuaciones en prácticamente todas las ligas más serias del planeta, y por supuesto, sus pasos iniciales en la liga argentina.

Luego de ese suceso me han llovido regularmente varias notificaciones a mi teléfono, de algunas aplicaciones que tengo instaladas en el mismo, acerca de los eventos más notables que ocurren en los partidos del Benfica, actual club donde milita el flaco y donde también antaño había comenzado su transitar en Europa.

Sin embargo, en los últimos cuatro años aproximadamente se las han arreglado para tener al menos un candidato en fase de octavos o de cuartos. ¿Saben quién no subestima esta liga? Pues los que se encargan de fichar en los equipos con más poder económico. Estos personajes han sacado de la liga portuguesa, numerosos futbolistas de calidad y los han hecho convertirse en figuras claves en otras ligas de renombre.

Pero el detalle es más favorable aún para los portugueses, pues varios de los fichados son nacionales de allí, lo que, desde mi punto de vista, hace que la selección nacional se halla convertido en un equipo intimidante al que hay que jugarle bien fino para hacerle mella. Creo que están mejor que cuando Cristiano estaba en su máximo nivel, lo que de haber coincidido estas generaciones con aquel momento, la historia tal vez hubiese sido escrita con otros versos.

Interesante también es que surgen las figuras portuguesas como producción en masa, y en todas las áreas del juego, y me atrevo a decir además, que nuestro querido Cristiano Ronaldo, no es ya imprescindible en esta selección, con todo y que reconozco su esfuerzo y sobre todo la dedicación que ha puesto en mantenerse al nivel necesario para mantenerse allí. Ya quisiera yo tener esta disciplina para todo.
