Lights, Camera, Ahhhhhhhh—ction?

I stared right straight towards the mirror; I noticed something different. Something was wrong, but I couldn't point out what it was, so I moved further to have a closer look. I gasped when I saw what's in the mirror; it was—

Konnichiwa Hivers! It's me again, your ridgette, and for today I'm going to share a spooktacular experience. It happened during our shooting for our final performance task for the Life and Works of Rizal. Basically, I'm the scriptwriter for our short film, which really suits me fine, but due to limited time, it became a hard task. I thought that my task would be limited to just writing the script, but it turns out that I also need to assist them.

the facade of the house

Anyway, back to the day of our shooting, I was really curious about how the house where we will shoot the scenes looks, because based on my classmates' descriptions, it really looks nice. When we arrived at the house, I was astounded because it really looked good. To be honest, it looks better than I anticipated it to be. It was really huge, and indeed, it's suitable for the settings of the scenes we wanted to shoot.

IMG_20240601_101348.jpg

I was really mesmerized by its beauty, but of 'course, we have priorities, so I first helped my classmates in the shooting process by assisting them. When they needed me no more, I decided to explore the house alone. Since it was really a huge house, there were, of 'course, a lot of rooms. All of the rooms weren't opened, just the ones we were allowed to use. I entered each room to see if there were rooms suitable for the scenes. The rooms look well maintained because it seems that the owner didn't use them often— or didn't want to use them.

IMG_20240601_102146.jpg

Rumors say that the house was cursed because the previous owners somehow experienced misfortunes that drove them to leave the house. There's even a rumor that it's haunted because there's a child who drowned in its pool. Of 'course, I didn't believe in it because usually rumors aren't true. That's why, despite the taunting I received that there's a ghost inside it, I continued my exploration. Not that I don't believe in it; it's just that for me, they aren't as harmful as what people describe them to be.

As my theology teacher had said, ghosts aren't the spirits of the dead, because spirits don't linger on Earth; rather, they either go to eternal salvation or damnation. Ghosts, according to her, are the remnants of the emotions of the people. They are strong attachments and emotions that somehow took form, so basically they're remnants of the past, which I find sad. Enough with the melodrama; I started exploring the third floor because they're shooting scenes on the second floor. I can really see the mountainside if I'm on the third floor.

the sun was soooo up!

I spent a few more minutes just staring at the green mountains, contemplating how my life currently goes, and after that, I decided to move down. They are done with the scenes that were needed to be shot in the second, so they moved up. I proceeded to explore the second floor, which I find quite gloomy compared to the upper floor. Maybe it was just the lighting, but it's really dark there, even though the sun is really up. I tried opening some rooms, and of 'course, some were open. I entered a spacious room with a bed and a mirror.

IMG_20240601_101448.jpg

The room seems to be newly furnished, but it seems someone has used it. I stared right straight at the mirror, and I noticed something different. Something was wrong, but I couldn't point out what it was, so I moved further to have a closer look. I gasped when I saw what's in the mirror; it was a figure of something—someone. I looked back and saw that it's just my classmate standing inside the room across the room I'm in.

IMG_20240601_101421.jpg

I sighed in relief because, for a second, I really thought I'm seeing things, which I will not really wish. The doors of the rooms are just aligned, and the mirror is facing the door, so if you open the door, even if you're facing away from the other room, you can see it through the mirror, which I find peculiar. I find it peculiar because, according to my parents, it isn't good to place a mirror facing the door. Anyway, it's just a belief, but I find it quite uncomfortable to be in that room, so I left it after taking a picture from its mirror.

a quick selfie before I left

Time flew by fast, and before I knew it, it was almost evening. We try to speed up the shooting process, but we still have many scenes that we need to take. We decided to continue it the next day because it's already dark, and some of the cast members need to go home because they live far away. We were wrapping up our stuff when I remembered that there were still plates that we've used that were left on the second floor. I felt obligated to get them because, first, I'm the one who brought them there, and second, they aren't mine; we just borrowed them.

taking a picture of behind the scenes of our shooting while deciding whether I will go back to house or not...will I?

So even though I'm really scared, I ran my way past the stairs towards the dining area on the second floor. Since it doesn't have electricity there, it was really dark. I relied on my phone's flashlight to see my surroundings. The silence and darkness were really scaring my wits out, so I hurriedly picked the plates because I'm starting to get scared at that time. I even bumped my knee badly because I'm in a hurry to get all of them.

IMG_20240601_101835.jpg

Thankfully, I was able to get all of them quickly. The first day of shooting ended at almost 7:00 in the evening, and I can say I'm totally exhausted. Before I went out of the gate, I glanced back and took a picture of the facade of the house. Indeed, it looks more eerie at night. I arrive at our house at almost 8:00, and I immediately wolf down my food. I slept afterwards, hoping that they would not need me anymore for the shooting the next day, which unfortunately didn't happen.

going home

That's all for now, Hivers! So much for the first day of shooting, right? Well, wait up, because there's still a second part of it. I assure you, it wasn't the entirety of the house, yet. So stay relaxed, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you all in my next blog!

Mata ne~

All of the pictures were taken by yours truly, ridgette.

I was thrilled to read your blog. 😅 I thought you have something scary to share. I hope you had great shoots for your output.

It was really scary when you're inside the house during night. Something mysterious did really happened during our shooting, and I'll share it to you on the part 2...Yes, fortunately our shooting went well. By the way, thanks for stopping by ( ◜‿◝ )...

asa ang location ani?

sa tuyan, skina dulce man guro to, sudlonon man to siya ..

I have different feelings on the house Ma'am @ridgette . It is nice and big. However, I feel something unusual.

Same here, it's really a big house, but strangely it doesn't feel homey. The rooms were really perfect for living, and I can say the owner is really wealthy to build such huge house. They even have a nicely designed pool, but now it's kinda abandoned. They said that the owner left it after her husband died, which was kinda sad. By the way, thanks for stopping by @diamondinthesky!

That was a bit scary! I'm also a curious one so I tend to explore things on my own, but I don't think I'll be able to go around the house like what you did. It's better to go with someone else in this case. You're so courageous going back to get those plates. It's eerie and gives off a weird vibe!

Being a scriptwriter suits you well. The way you wrote this blog invited readers to follow your narrative..was expecting a spooky experience though!hehe
Thanks for sharing..

Thanks for the compliment @missjoycee. It was quite a spooky experience, especially the part I need to go back to the second floor on that evening. It's like I'm in a horror film that time, but I have no choice because those plates aren't mine, so I really need to return them. Anyway, thanks for stopping by (。・v・。)ノ♡

Naranasan ko din maging scriptwriter kasi walang nag volunteer sa group ko dahil horror yung nabunot namin. Legit mahirap siya tapos ikaw pa magdiidirector ng kung anong act gagawin nila. SHS days~

Btw. Nakakatakot naman yung place kapag gabi. Pero gusto ko mga places na ganyan.

Although ako yung scriptwriter, thankfully hindi ako yung director. The difficulty in directing a film was something else kasi I've witnessed how nag struggle yung acting director namin. Feel ko yung stress nya while assisting her in some scenes, idagdag mo pa yung conflict between the one who film/edited it kasi they find it difficult to shoot the scenes that was in the script...need talaga na magkaintindihan para maka move on sa next scene.

Also, yeah, legit talaga yung takot ko while getting the plates. It was tolerable to stay during day, but it really look scary during night.

Good for horror movies too.😊

The house looks beautiful at first glance, but it was really quite creepy. It's indeed good for horror movies...
