Hoegaarden, a classic white beer but I like it (ENG/ITA)

Hello BEER community! I've been here for a long time but this is the first time I can participate to #beersaturday and it was about time!

Lately I have more freedom to buy beer that I can drink whenever I want and so I like to go and look for new beers that I haven't tasted yet. In addition to the pleasure of drinking them, I can also get the satisfaction of posting my impressions here and start to get more involved in this world, yay!

Hello BEER community! è da tanto che sono qui dentro ma è la prima volta che partecipo al #beersaturday ed era anche ora!

Ultimamente ho più libertà nel comprare della birra che posso bere quando mi pare e quindi mi piace andare a cercare nuove birre che ancora non ho assaggiato. Oltre al piacere stesso di berle, posso anche trarre la soddisfazione di postare la mie impressioni qui e cominciare ad essere più coinvolto in questo mondo.

Today I bring to you: Hoegaarden

A classic blanche beer, now known worldwide (I think), very commercial, in fact it is easily found in every supermarket. It may seem ordinary and obvious to write a post about Hoegaarden, but there is a reason why I talk about it.

Hoegaarden is a Belgian beer with ancient origins, its recipe dates back to 1445. The brewery was founded in the homonymous village in the 1980s. Being a blanche beer, the main ingredient is unmalted wheat which gives it that characteristic straw yellow color and a fresh and citrusy taste.

Una classica birra blanche, ormai conosciuta a livello mondiale (credo), molto commerciale, infatti si trova facilmente in ogni supermercato. Può sembrare banale e scontato fare un post sulla Hoegaarden, ma c'è un motivo per cui ne parlo.

Hoegaarden è una birra belga di origini antiche, la sua ricetta risale infatti al 1445. Il birrificio è stato invece fondato negli anni 80 nel villaggio omonimo. Essendo una blanche, l'ingrediente principale è il frumento non maltato che dona quel caratteristico colore giallo paglierino e un gusto fresco e agrumato.

Why Hoegaarden? Aren't there any better ones?
Of course, but I don't usually drink blanche beer, I prefer weiss. The blanche beer I've tasted so far I've found all too "sour" for my taste, very watery and almost ferrous. Hoegaarden, on the other hand, is less annoying for my taste buds and I always drink it with great pleasure, so it's my go to when I want a fresh and light beer. It's also pretty cheap.

I usually drink beer when I eat pizza. This time pizza with tuna and onions 🍕

Perché proprio Hoegaarden? Non ce ne sono di migliori?
Sicuramente sì ma in genere non bevo birra blanche, preferisco la weiss. Le blanche che ho assaggiato finora le ho trovate tutte troppo "aspre" per i miei gusti, molto acquose e quasi ferrose. Hoegaarden invece è meno fastidiosa per le mie papille gustative e la bevo sempre con grande piacere. E' la mia scelta easy quando voglio una birra fresca e leggera, e pure economica.
