Dark Beer at a Christmas Party / クリスマスパーティーで黒ビール

The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 390

This week, there was a brief break from the cold weather, and I noticed that the Christmas party hosted by the local university's startup support office had a Schwarzbier on the drink menu. I couldn’t resist the chance to enjoy a beer after such a long time!

I love the bold, black design of the bottle and asked the bartender if I could take a photo. When they poured it into the glass, the deep, dark color got me excited. This black! So dark and rich that you can’t see through it!

As expected from its color, the taste was rich with flavors like coffee, chocolate, nuts, or caramel—all my favorites! However, it wasn’t overly sweet or too heavy, making it a pleasure to drink. While I often like trying new beers, it’s a beer I’d definitely enjoy again if I get the chance. It's perfect for this season.

According to ChatGPT, Köstritzer Schwarzbier pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted meats, dishes with rich sauces, as well as cheese, nuts, chocolate, and desserts. This makes me want to try pairing it with some chocolate or dessert next time 😁

I didn’t know much about this beer when I ordered it, but it turns out that Köstritzer is a famous Schwarzbier brand in Germany. In fact, the Köstritzer Schwarzbier I had is their flagship beer. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon such a great choice.

After enjoying Beer Saturday, the cold weather returned the next day. I wonder when I’ll join Beer Saturday again. There are two shops nearby with great beer selections, so I might check them out soon to lift my beer spirits.

The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 390

今週は寒さが和らいだ日があり、さらに地元の大学の起業家支援オフィスが開催するクリスマスパーティーの飲み物のリストに黒ビールがあり、久しぶりにビールを飲まずにいられませんでした。

ビシッと黒がかっこいいボトルが好みで、バーの方に写真を撮らせてもらいました。注いでもらうと色も濃くてテンションが上がりました。そう、この黒！向こうが見えないくらいの深い濃い黒！

イベントについてきたPuppie（@pupiko、最近Hiveのアカウントを作ってあげました）と乾杯 🍻

色からの期待通り、コーヒーやチョコレート、ナッツ、キャラメルといった大好物の風味のコクのある味わいで、でもべったり甘かったり、重すぎたりはせず、おいしくいただきました。ビールは新規開拓に走りがちですが、Köstritzerの黒ビールはこの時期にぴったりの好みのビールで、また機会があったら飲みたいと思いました。

ChatGPTによると「肉料理（特にグリルやロースト）、濃厚なソースの料理と相性が抜群です。チーズやナッツ類、チョコレートデザートともよく合います。」とのことで、チョコレートやデザートと合わせる飲み方を試してみたくなっています😁

特に何の知識もなく飲んだのですが、Köstritzerは有名な黒ビールのブランドのようです。さらに私が飲んだKöstritzer Schwarzbierが代表的なビールのようで、偶然ながらいいビールにめぐりあいました。

久しぶりのビアサタデーを楽しんだ翌日からはまた寒い日々が始まり、次はいつビアサタデーに参加できるかな。よくいくエリアに二つビールの取り扱いが豊富なお店があるようなので、近々テンションを上げるべく覗きに行きたいです。
