Abecedarios Creativos: taller de lettering (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien. Como algunos saben, tengo un emprendimiento de artes llamado Poeticabyg, donde además de vender productos de arte tambien dicto talleres de lettering. El mes pasado hice un taller llamado “Abecedarios Creativos” y fue genial.

Admito que tuve un pequeño momento de estrés donde dos días antes tuve que cambiar de local, dado que el local donde lo realizaría tuvo un corto en sus lámparas por unas intensas lluvias y no estaría listo a tiempo. Menos mal ya tenía visto estos salones para un taller estilo campamento y estaban disponibles para ser usados ese mismo día.

En este taller los participantes aprendieron diferentes estilos de letras y muchas técnicas de decoración para cada una de las letras del abecedario. Fue divertido trabajar con un grupo tan diverso: niños desde los 7 años de edad, adolescentes, hasta adultos de 40 años. De por sí, estuvimos a casa llena y eso me encanta, poder compartir mis conocimientos y enseñarle a otros algo que me apasiona tanto como lo es el lettering.

Tuvimos un refrigerio lleno de mini pastelitos, galletas y maltas que los participantes y yo disfrutamos bastante. Algo que me encanta de preparar los talleres es decorar los sobres (cada uno lo decoro a mano y de forma personalizada, ninguno se parece) y armar los cotillones (esta vez hice creyones gigantes y todos quedaron encantados con ellos).

A pesar de que la situación no es la mejor, el arte proporciona un espacio para expresarte y relajarte un poco de lo que sucede alrededor, así que ando en el proceso de promocionar mi campamento de lettering, una semana donde aprenderán más a fondo del tema. El lettering me ha ayudado en mis momentos malos y buenos y poder enseñarle a otro es algo que me llena de alegría.

I hope you are well. As some of you may know, I have an arts startup called Poeticabyg, where in addition to selling art products I also teach lettering workshops. Last month I did a workshop called "Creative Alphabets" and it was great.

I admit that I had a little moment of stress where two days before I had to change the venue, since the place where I was going to do it had a short in their lamps due to heavy rains and it would not be ready on time. Fortunately I had already seen these rooms for a camp style workshop and they were available to be used that same day.

In this workshop the participants learned different lettering styles and many decorating techniques for each of the letters of the alphabet. It was fun to work with such a diverse group: children as young as 7 years old, teens, to adults in their 40s. In itself, we had a full house and I love that, being able to share my knowledge and teach others something that I am as passionate about as lettering.

We had a snack full of mini cupcakes, cookies and malts that the participants and I enjoyed a lot. Something I love about preparing the workshops is decorating the envelopes (each one is hand-decorated and personalized, none of them look alike) and putting together the cotillions (this time I made giant crayons and everyone was thrilled with them).

Even though the situation is not the best, art provides a space to express yourself and relax a bit from what's going on around you, so I'm in the process of promoting my lettering camp, a week where you will learn more about lettering. Lettering has helped me in my good and bad times and being able to teach someone else is something that fills me with joy.
