Today I want to share with you a very cool and colourful work from BATES that I found. Depicting : #POPEYE and #OLIVE next to some awesome lettering. Very old school ππ
It still looks so good although it is from 2019.

Further away againβ¦ in the thumbnail / first photo I tried to line up the little box and parking pole with the artwork as they are painted to match. Here I stood upright. It doesnβt match as you can see.

I like the "Love..." Love is complicated like Popeye and Olive. And Bates lettering (I think I can see Bates in there) to me looks like a expression of everything that love entails - good, bad, complicated, just wierd, whatever, its all there between the two lovers.
Oh for sure. LOVE is complicated and theirs was for definitely.
I think you are on to something. It does express all of that.

Popeye is an old cartoon personality, I don't think the artist need worry about copyright issues here.
He is⦠so cool to see childhood characters still being portrayed.
