V Ostravě jsou stále na desítkách míst relikty minulosti odkazující na těžbu černého uhlí. Na opuštěné těžní věže, haldy, vlečky, komíny koksoven či laguny lze narazit téměř po celé Ostravě. Vrch Landek není výjimkou. Zde je navíc možně sjet výtahem do šachty dolu Anselm a prohlédnout si zde expozici záchranářské báňské techniky. A když se rozhodnete zůstat na povrchu, tak i zde je toho hodně k vidění.
EN: Landek is one of many places comemorating the history of Ostrava region associated wih coal mining. Abandoned mine Anselm was reconstructed to the Museum of mining rescue service located in mines under the surface. In its surrounding are also interesting things to see. Old steam and diesel locomotives, various mining machinery or mining tower with old operational buildings. Also nature there is worth visiting.
V řetízkových šatnách to vypadá, jako kdyby mundúry pod stropem čekaly na chlapy, kteří každou chvíli přijdou na směnu.

Kolo těžní věže se přestalo otáčet v devadesátých letech, ale v areálu to stále žije.
U vstupu areálu je vystavena parní mašina o kousek dál stojí dieselové důlní vláčky, které vozí děti po miniaturním okruhu.
Vystavené jsou i obrovské razící stroje.
Na mnohem starší historii odkazují sochy mamutů a Petřkovické (někdy zvané též Landecké) Venuše vytvořené z krevelu.

Výčet atrakcí by nebyl úplný, kdybych nezmínil rozhlednu na Landeku, akvárium sladkovodních ryb, unikátní povrchovou uhelnou sluj a nedaleký soutok Odry a Ostravice. Tyto aktivity si ale nechám napříště, až bude hezčí počasí.
EN: Unfortunately the exposition of freshwater fish was not opened and for a walk to Odra and Ostravice confluence it was too cold. So it stays at my wishlist for the next visit.
