We all love gifts, and there is nothing better than when you get something that you really like or need. In this little video we are going to see something similar to an unboxing, but I didn't order anything on Amazon or any other store, in fact I didn't even expect the gift and that makes it more special.

The app tells me that I have in front of me a Mammillaria Spinosissima, just like the one I already have in small version, I feel it looks different not only for the size but also for the shape, this one has a little flattened shape like peyotes, and the Mammillaria Spinosissima I have has a barrel shape, a little upwards and not downwards.

The other cactus that was forgotten because of the size of the bigger one has the name of Opuntia microdasys (lehm.) pfeiff, it has small and thin spines that at first I thought they wouldn't do anything to me but yes, I'm still pulling a few out of my fingers.

Welding gloves like those are the best thing for cacti. I like eating nopales but the endless little spines in the fingers put me off.
You should let that cut stem dry for a while, at least 2 weeks. Put cinnamon on it, that's a good antifungal.
It's not Mammillaria spinosissima although I'm not sure which Mammillaria it is, the genus is huge

Yes the truth is that the gloves were a great help, at least with this cactus that is huge, with the other smaller ones it is a little uncomfortable to handle them, and written down in my learning list, I thought that with a week would be enough to let it heal the wound, I will put special care in it, in fact I have drying my Parodia Leninghausii, I had a rotting problem and decided to crop it to rescue the plant, I hope I haven't made a mistake, but it seems that the wound healing is going well and the top keeps a good figure.

After a few weeks if I see that it recovers favorably I will share it, now there is no point in doing so, and about the big cactus, I probably need to wait to see its flower to be more sure of the genus, but I really loved this gift, I wish we all received one.
