Behold! A wild new niche community has appeared!
The Melomaniacs Community: (hive-182670)
1. The Whats
melomania (noun) -
: an inordinate liking for music or melody
: excessive or abnormal attraction to music
The Melomaniacs Community is not just another music related community.
It is The community for people who have a deeper connection with music. It's The community meant for posts about peoples record collections, deeper thoughts and feelings music sparks in them, album reviews with a little personal touch, stories that give certain songs, albums, artists or live performances a sentimental value, etc.
2. The Whys
Scrolling through the many music related communities Hive has to offer, I didn't quite find THE community I was looking for when I think about music. I saw different communities for users to post their own original music in, some more genre specific communities, some language specific, but also communities for people to just drop music videos in.
I was longing for a community where people write about their record collections, talk about which medium they enjoy listening their music on the most, share stories that are connected to specific songs or artists, stories about the concerts they enjoyed the most (not just because of the live performance but the atmosphere around them, everything prior to the gig and what happened after), album reviews with a bit of personality, etc.
I'm a person who loves reading or hearing about people's passions - I love seeing the spark in their eyes, feeling the emotions through what someone's written, that is why and for which I created The Melomaniacs Community.
3. The Hows
Posting in The Melomaniacs Community is simple if you've got a Hive account.
If you don't here's a link with my referral to the Hive Onboarding website where you can create an account and learn more about Hive. Btw, I strongly recommend to use the https://peakd.com UI once you've created a user.
If you've already got a Hive account set up and wish to post in The Melomaniacs Community, either click on the Communities tab on the navigation bar above (in PeakD), then proceed to ''All Communities'' and Search for ''Melomaniacs''... OR just follow this link to the community.
The next step is to hit the Subscribe button... and you're ready to post either straight from the Community's page or from the Communities dropdown in the post editor when writing a new post.
4. The Rules
Now, if you read the Whats and the Whys of the community, I talked about what kind of a community this is meant to be. There are several other communities for less sentimentally meaningful music posts, self promotion, etc, and I encourage you to explore them if those are the kinds of posts you're looking to create. If not, great! We sincerely welcome you to our community!
Still, for this to be a clean and pleasurable environment for everyone, I have to establish a couple of ground rules.
Keep it meaningful.
(No posts with just a music video and nothing else, give the music a story, a meaning).Keep it original.
(We do NOT tolerate plagiarism, spam, claiming someone elses work to be yours, etc).Keep it cool.
(There are as many people as there are opinions. Debates are totally okay. Insulting someone and throwing shit at them like a rabid ape is NOT okay).
I leave myself the freedom of adding new rules to the list as I see needed.
(Oh btw, we're totally okay with cross-posting and reposting (very old posts) if the said post really suits here).
If you've got any questions about the community (as if if it's okay to post this or that, if there are going to be any kind of initiatives / contests, etc) or wish to co-operate with us on some kind of a project, please do so in the comment section below or message me on Discord (xves#7147).
Cool!

Thank you!
Count me in! This is really awesome. This is exactly what I have been looking for to post my weekly #whoareyoulisteningto posts in. Hopefully we can grow that tag. I love learning about new artists.
Hell yes! I was hoping you would say that! Haha.
Feel free to cross-post your latest #whoareyoulisteningto to the community. ^^
Okay thanks.

Alright, @sering. I had a chat with the other OCD moderators and we've decided to give you another chance.
Before you start posting again, I'll give you the reason for the previous mute: as we looked through your posts, they mostly seemed to include one photo and a couple of paragraphs of the one or two same sentences just rewritten differently over and over again.
And here's a tip:
If you, for example, want to make a post about your night photography, I suggest you to put at least three photos you took at night in the post AND write about the photos, your walk, etc, not about you liking night photography all over again.
PS! We're currently moving post traffic from OCD to niche communities that we (OCD) support. So we kindly ask you to post your Photography content in the Photography Lovers community. This way there will be more accurate trending feeds for communities. We still welcome you to cross-post the posts from Photography Lovers to the OCD community as you please (using the peakd.com feature under your posts).
Good luck,
OCD Incubation Moderator - @xves
