What makes a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ? (Part 1 of 2) | The Old Path
Scriptures: Matthew 28:19–20, Acts 11:26
A disciple can be considered as a devout or close follower of someone. As Christians, we are disciples of Christ. We represent Christ here on earth. The twelve disciples of Christ in the Bible represented Him when He was on earth and even when He ascended to heaven. Wherever people saw them, they recognized them as followers of Christ.
(KJV)Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
A disciple is meant to observe the teachings of his Master and to pass the same message across to other people. The reason why Jesus made disciples while He was on earth was so that when He'll have people take will take up His ministry and continue with it in his honor.
It is like a C.E.O that trains his subordinates so that when He retires or is no more in the firm he can have people that will pick up from where he left. There are many companies and factories like that. Many top firms we know and hear of are not actually presently owned by the person who actually brought it to existence.
The brains behind them had passed them down to people that were close to them while they were still around running the firms. That's how the great commission of Christ was passed down to disciples from generation to generation. We should continue in Christ's teachings because that is His will for us.
I was truly blessed by this. Thank you very much
As the disciples of Christ Jesus we are ought to follow his step, do things according to him and also do his will.
Thanks for sharing.
