This is my first post on this Community so I'll try to follow the rules .I hope you like it.
So we have been in total Lockdown in New Zealand for over a week and it looks like it will be a lot longer since the Delta variant hit us after 6 months of freedom since the last Lockdown. One of the only things we can do to get out of the house is to exercise in our neighbourhood. So every day I walk and take photos. It's a therapy to get my mind off the restrictions we face.
Recently I have been taking photos of shop front reflections, and these are some retro shops I pass.
First off I came across an old school film camera and video shop.I love old film cameras and they have made a comeback in the last couple of years.I remember the days of taking in film to be developed and waiting a few days to get the results.
There is something about the quality of film images that you just don't get with data.
That's my reflection and someone else is passing by. The white buildings and dark footpath reflections overlay the display and add multi dimensions. These sort of reflections are busy and confusing to our brains.
I find reflections fascinating. All photos are reflections thru a lens. The brain has trouble processing mirror images so these images are hard to grasp at first. The more you look, the more you see. Like a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle.
The person who set up this opp shop window display sure has a sense of humour. This is one seriously different lampshade. Love the boots!
And finally a sex shop window display. I find the objectivisation of women in these fast dying out shops sad and depressing. There is a lot going on in the street scene reflection and the mannequin is almost anonymous and stereotypical of such displays. And the fashion??? I don't get the outfit it seems to be a mixture of retro air hostess meets hooker - minus a hand .Sad and weird. But a good reflective image.
So I hope you enjoyed this post .And for those of you still in Lockdown you have my sympathies-you are not alone.
