Such a well-written post. I love this:
Once I realized that it was the discomfort of the cold that made me feel alive, I started truly appreciating it. In the same way I learned to enjoy tiredness, stress, worry, sadness, and even pain.
That's a very helpful way of experiencing more 'challenging' emotions or mental states.
I also find this to be so true:
As nice as it may seem to maintain a childlike wonder at all times, this too is excessive, and if not handled well it can come back and bite you.
Being able to control what you focus on is a virtue. I do feel that it's quite unique to everyone, to find that balance. For some being in this childlike wonder state might be something that's very hard to achieve. I can't say I have experienced that state a lot in my life so far.
I'm glad you enjoyed my writing. Indeed, I try to see the silver lining on the clouds just as much as the rain that you need for the rainbow. This may make things a bit more complex, but it's certainly more interesting than the ever repetitive one-sidedness.
