100% upvotes for good bilingual posts, curation project etc. - Cross Culture Newsletter #4

in Cross Culture4 years ago (edited)

Hey guys, we’ve had an amazing two weeks here. We’ve got so much news that I needed to drop this newsletter.

First of all, our curation project is up and running! We also have some news about making the community feel more comfortable and fun and some progress we’ve made with delegation and our trail.

Curation project

Now that all of our curators have made their first curation posts, it’s time to tell you who they are. @starstrings01 and @spirall are two great guys from Nigeria 🇳🇬 , the former is into music and the later into photography and design. @lafeedekalarka is from Colombia 🇨🇴 and is into painting. I’m slowly getting to know them and I’m really really glad they reached out to me, they are turning out to be a great team. I will make some interview questions so we can get to know them better over the next two weeks.

We curate Bilingual or English posts from any region/country community or tag, and posts from our community. You can find a list of the communities we are curating from at the bottom of the post.

We will be curating on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for now. Any post under a $4 payout is eligible.

I will also be posting features on people who contribute to the community, bi-weekly questions and newsletters like this one!

Perfect posts for our community

We welcome:

  • any and all bilingual posts
  • posts about language learning
  • posts about travel experiences
  • posts about local areas or your home country, anything that can show us what life is like for you or your community
  • ideas about culture and society
  • posts from people living abroad and sharing their experiences.
  • Answers to previous business-weekly questions (even if they are past questions)
  • any impressions of a culture that is new or unfamiliar to you
  • posts about hive meetup plans, local community groups or connecting and collaborating between countries
  • if you have ideas for any regular projects, let me know and maybe we can work it out.

All decent posts in the community will receive 100% upvote from this account for the next few weeks.

Curation Trail and delegation

We are seeking delegation for this account! Delegation helps us give more rewards to a wider variety of people and local communities. Of course we’d love delegation from whales but delegation adds up so feel free to delegate any amount to @crossculture. You can delegate through your wallet, next to your HP stats.

We’ve also started curation trail. A curation trail is where you will automatically upvote posts that an account you follow upvotes. It’s a good way to put your votes to use when you are too busy to curate yourself. You can give %100 votes to a trail or 10% votes to a trail, it’s up to how much of your voting power you want to use yourself. You can delegate at Hivevote

Our current capacity for support thanks to delegation and trail followers

Our upvote trail is currently worth about $0.50-0.70 and we can also provide about 2-3 hive per curated post as beneficiaries. I would really like to double this by the end of the year!

Please support this project if you can, and even if you can’t afford it, your re-shares and word of mouth promotion will help us tremendously.

Huge thanks to @kennyskitchen and @abundancetribe for making this possible! Without him, we’d be working with much less. Also big thanks to @vincentnijman, @starstring01 and @spirall who not only curate but also delegate, and @ceparl for following the trail. And thanks for everyone who already submitted a post to the Bi-weekly question:

Voice chat

I’d like to do more voice chat so we can get to know each other. I’m thinking about scheduling a chat every 2-4 weeks. If anyone else wants to host one please let me know!

Tiny mistakes with curation

On our last curation post we accidentally got the wrong beneficiaries, so I sent 3 Hive to each of the curated posts authors! No worries!

Make a submission for the most recent bi-weekly question

The question is: 🌎🌎🌎 Cross Culture Question: What kind of stereotypes do people have about your country? Do you think they are true or not?.
4 more days to submit! New Question this weekend :-)

And!

Join our community and post!

Join the chat to make friends

I love this question. I hope to respond in the cross-culture community.

The voice chat would also be great. I would love to have a chat with you all.

I will continue adding my grain of sand to make this project bigger !!!
