Hello, dear friends and the #Hivecollectors community! Merry Shiny Christmas to you all! Greetings to admin @mipiano. When I saw the announcement from @qurator about the photo quest, I initially thought of showcasing Christmas decorations. When I was searching my collection, I realized there were many other shiny items that would fit this contest.so this is my entry to @qurator photoquest.
I decided to share my collection in this community because the contest only considers one photo for the contest. And I have a beautiful array of shiny objects that I would love to share with all of you. Although these items are not pure gold, they are shiny metals that I've collected just for fun; some of them I use occasionally very seldom. and some of them are just collected because they are very nice and beautifully made.
I found this elephant a long time back at a fleamarket what metal it is I don't know I just value the artistic way they made it.
It might be from Thailand I think this type of art is popular fhere.
I have a big collection of turtles and this is the shiniest one in my collection.
We like turtles, it is a slow but steady and calm animal. Turtles are a religious symbol. in Hindu temples you can see a turtle at the entrance, their presence there keeps your ego outside.
this one functi9ons as a kind of tiny storage box.
How beautiful workmanship.
I got this butterfly brooch from my family and use it to pin my saree during some functions or marriages. wearing a silk saree is not so easy to maintain all day so I use many pins here and there and this one goes on the left shoulder where we gather our pallu The breast covering part.
I am missing one stone from it. I just noticed i when i took the photot.
This Christmas tree from my In-laws is also a brooch that I wear with a saree. I think it is a Sworrosky design.
It shines very nicely.
Together with my imitation gold bangles
.
My Rajsthani shiny bangles. A long time back I bought these during our tour around Rajsthan. These bangles are a popular accessory among women because of their vibrant colors and intricate designs. made from Lac. lac is a thick semi-solid gummy substance produced by small insects.they melt that gummy material and during soft condition they decorate them with beads and stones. after they colored them.
they are pretty good to use for marriage they are heavy. but if it is hot they become soft and lose their shape like mine here.
When they lose shape we have to put them in the sun and mold them on a glass or proper sized jar to get back their round shape.
My imitation gold marriage chain that I wear during travel, due to the risk of theft it is better to use the fake one while traveling to big cities and crowded places
Nice and simple and costs only INR 50-70.instead of maybe 200,000 for real gold
Here is one more set of bangles used mostly for some special functions or marriages. Rajshtani shellac with fine craftmanship.
These are my shiny copper pots for drinking water storage.
some for drinking water to get a healthy copper effect in water.
some I use for my rituals.
These are my collective shiny things they are not very valuable but they are beautiful and practical.
thank you very much
You always let me know about these initiatives I somehow miss out hahah. Your shiny objects are beautiful, you made a shiny collection of them. :) Love all of them, especially the turtle and the Christmas tree 🎄
Thank you, very much dear. It is not to mean a reminder. thinking the perfect community to post.
So I did. looking forward to your announcement. Happy holidays. ❄️☃️
Announcement for the January theme? I do have one thing in my mind so just a few days and we will know it ;))
This post is brilliant haha what an eye catching item, not just the glitter, but the decoration with stones and shape, the Christmas tree and the turtle were my favorites 😍
Thank you @elbuhito liking my post. I like the turtle also. It is Christmas but here in India. no Christmas tree here so we are happy with that Christmas tree. hahaha. Greetings happy holidays :)🎄
