Hello everyone,
Today I’m gonna show you some useful ideas or recipes for young bananas.
We all know that banana herbs grow well even though with less care but one of its weaknesses is the rainy season or worst is stormy season. Just a few weeks ago we had this strong typhoon that hit our country and fortunately province where I’m located only suffers a few damages. However, some of our plants were not safe from wind with heavy rain. Some got fall are those plants that already have fruits.
These are the few banana herbs that were knocked down near our house.
Most of the them are those that bear fruits already. It's a pity that many of them haven't fully developed the fruit meat inside, so the owners didn't pay much attention.
But I found this one that I think It's already good to cook, so what I did was take two bunches. I put one aside and the other one is what I thought about making banana chips.
Steps
Young bananas are very good for making chips I don’t know but I love making young bananas rather than mature ones. They are also very easy to peel. I’ll teach you the steps.
First - I cut both of its sides, then I cut open just a layer of its fruit meat.
Second - I tore its side using a knife and after that, it’s easier to tear the peel apart from its meat. - note that you can rub a little oil on your fingers if you don’t want to get rubbery hands after.😉
Third- This time we got our fruit meats beautiful and smooth. I slice them into pieces in my desired shapes and size then wash them thoroughly.
Cooking procedure.
In a pan I heated the oil in high flame. This time I divided the bananas because I only had a few oils available.
Then on the first batch I fried them first then the second batch followed.
After turning them into golden brown just as you see in the photo I combined the two parts and fried them together for 2 minutes. This time I don’t have to worry even with less oil they won’t stick to each other anymore.
Finally I added the melted brown sugar with a little bit of water that I set aside earlier. At this moment I stir it well to prevent it from overcooking or burning or else it will be bitter. I just cooked it on a medium flame and waited for the sugar to stick to the chips and caramelize then I added a little salt to neutralize the taste and finally it was done.
I just set it aside for a few minutes to cool down and then enjoy it. I also put the rest in the container to have a snack later when I'm hungry.
These are the crispy banana chip snacks we created made from our young banana that fell due to the typhoon. If we are hardworking and creative, we will be able to create and be free from the food around us.
And that's all for now guys. I hope you liked my recipe today. 😉
