On a hot, sunny day it's always pleasant to seek the shade of a tree. The dappled light from dancing leaves is soothing even if the ants climbing up my legs are not.
Whilst gardening this morning I paused under our gratorn tree (santol) and started looking at the shadows that the leaves were casting on each other. The leaf-on-leaf shapes they created were fascinating so I fetched my camera and forgot about the remaining garden chores until tomorrow.
I present the results here as both colour and black-and-white versions.
