The Ambience of Toko Tuku Coffee Shop

What's up guys!

Tuku is one of the popular Coffee franchises in Jakarta. Its outlets are not yet widely spread, there are only a few. Many coffee lovers like Kopi Tuku because it is not bitter. The prices they offer are very competitive, so that adds to the interesting points of Tuku.

Recently, Coffee Shop Tuku opened an outlet in one of Jakarta's sports centers, namely Gelora Bung Karno. It became one of the places that also attracted a lot of visitors. All of them are coffee lovers. Just like other outlets, Tuku has a very long queue of customers.

Yesterday, before running on the GBK ring road, I took the time to stop by. When I was there, there was no long queue. I was looking forward to the moment when there was no queue, so I could stay there comfortably. However, even though there was no very long queue, when I went inside, Tuku Coffee Shop was full.

The Toko Tuku Coffee Shop is a two floors building. The first floor is a sports shop and Paid Shower Room. While Toko Tuku is on the second floor. You can see the connecting stairs, it is made of sturdy black iron. This is recalling of the material found on the mezzanine floor of a house.

If you look at the interior of Toko Tuku, you must think that this is a raw building because the ceiling looks imperfect, open so that it shows the supporting ornaments of the building. However, the things I just mentioned are the characteristics of this coffee shop. They deliberately left the ceiling open so that it shows the aesthetics of the coffee shop itself.

Another uniqueness of Toko Tuku is the furniture. Look at the barista table, it is made of stone and cement that is not painted at all. The barista table and the order table are left with the color of cement, showing that the owner of Toko Tuku highly values simplicity. There are also cement benches that are also not painted, left with the original cement color, gray.

So, from the overall space in Toko Tuku, I can conclude that the architecture of Toko Tuku Coffee Shop emphasizes a minimalist concept. This is evidenced by the combination of furniture colors that have gray and wood-brown colors. In addition, Toko Tuku Coffee Shop also has an Eco-green concept, where there are plant pots in several corners of the room. Even on the walls, there are plants.

It seems that Toko Tuku Coffee Shop does not make architecture its main attraction. However, for me the architecture of this building looks more pleasant and pleasing to the eye than the taste of the coffee. For some reason, I don't like the signature creamy coffee. I like the ambiance inside the building as well as the friendly service of the staff, including the security. Those who are on guard outside will ask the customer first and then show them where they should sit or queue. Perfect service.

Right under the stairs of Toko Tuku, there are lockers that anyone can use to store their belongings. Around the building, there is also a space for customers, but it is not obvious that it is a customer space because it has ordinary seats.

Tuku Coffee Shop also sells merchandise such as tumblers, mugs, notebooks, t-shirts, goodie bags, and others. Unfortunately, their merchandise is expensive so I don't want to collect it.

Tuku coffee is quite famous but this is the first time I've seen the cafe. Thank you for showing how unique the building is.

That's because you have not been to GBK for so long so you miss the boat.

I think so. Hahaha...

Interesting coffee shop @viviehardika! From a distance, the building appears unfinished and even its interior space shows signs of incomplete works. Regardless, this is the essence of an industrial-themed architecture where construction details are exposed and rustic colors are dominant. Would you agree? ☺️

I totally agree that what we see is the essence of industrial-themed architecture. Thanks for dropped by @storiesoferne

Hello @viviehardika. Industrially designed cafes and restaurants are one of the most popular architectural trends nowadays. Apart from being cost-effective, these F&B (Food & Beverage) spaces are also much easier to build. ☺️

I think that was their concern. After all, if a low-budget makes it look cool, why not?

I like the eclectic style of this coffee shop. It looks like a great place to have a drink and relax.

Yup, that place is cozy..

I love the location of the cafe, the plants add freshness to the place, the interior design although rustic looks cozy.

Greetings!
