I Bet You Won't Pass Fast If You See The Architecture of Karet Sudirman Bridge in Jakarta

Halo Architecture+Design friends...

People may hate Jakarta because of the traffic jams, crowd and pollution but I love Jakarta. As the capital city, Jakarta is indeed very densely populated and has made itself the busiest city. Every day goes very fast in Jakarta. If you look at Jakarta as a busy city, it will fill your head with discomfort a.ka stressful.

But for me, Jakarta is still the most enjoyable city. Indeed, if you compare it to cities in Singapore, Jakarta is still not enough to be a candidate for a rival city in Singapore in terms of city layout, busyness, and order. However, if the scope is narrowed down, only to the cities I have visited, Jakarta is still the top place in my heart. That's why I still feel at home living in Jakarta since 2016 and still counting. I don't even feel at home and am afraid to live in the capital city of my hometown province. It's scarier than Jakarta.

And speaking of Jakarta, I can show you the aesthetic values that the local government has tried for Jakarta. Of the many developments, this time I want to thank the initiator of the construction and maintenance of this pedestrian bridge.

If you see Jakarta in the scope of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, I bet you will also be happy to spend a long time in Jakarta.

If you look at the whole bridge, it adheres to functionalist architecture, which emphasizes the function of this building, namely bridging people to be able to carry out activities without having to stop.

This bridge is also included in the type of Structural Expressionism architecture because its construction prioritizes wood materials that expose the structural function of this bridge.

So far, in addition to functioning as a bridge, Karet Sudirman Bridge is also widely used as a recreation area for families. In addition to families, this bridge can also be used as a spot for young people to look at the sky because the highest place is provided to see the surroundings, like an observatory room. For newcomers, this is also suitable as a destination to see how busy the city of Jakarta is.

The Jakarta regional government is now returning public space to the public so that they can enjoy the city of Jakarta from a different perspective. When I was there, there were several families playing there, just watching the traffic in the Sudiman area, or just sitting while chatting with close friends. For me who passed this place alone, I could also feel the benefits. Especially when it was the moment after the rain, so it looked very dramatic. Ha ha aha
